Eastern Washington Friday 11/8

What a great feeling it must be for the Women’s Team to get off to a winning start to the season.  The 68-65 win over Eastern Washington not only avenged last year’s 50-68 loss in Cheney, but it signaled the return of junior Cassandra Brown after her medical redshirt year.
 
Brown and the other Cassandra, “Cassie” Thompson, were a wonderful tandem tonight….scoring 30 points and pulling down 17 rebounds between them.
 
Down by 9 at the 8 minute mark and by 6 with 3:25 to go, instead of folding with numerous turnovers and wild shots as they’ve been known to do in the past, the Pilots picked it up on defense and made some terrific TEAM plays to go ahead for good with a minute left.
 
There’s literally a tough road ahead for the Pilots as they next travel to UO, UW, and Montana before returning home in 16 days.
