We are up against the Blazers at 5:30pm on Saturday, so there is no way we win the sound battle... hmmm, they do have WiFi for audio... or an old fashioned radio...

Re: Pilots @ LMU, Thursday 7:00pm
How many times did one team steal it and the other team steal it right back? 18 total steals in the game!
With the Lions only shooting 32%, there were a lot of rebounds to be had. LMU got a few too many of those, but the Pilots did end up outrebounding them overall in the end.

I tried to watch the W video with Bill Johnson's broadcast tonight, but the radio was about 5 seconds ahead of the video.PilotNut wrote:We are up against the Blazers at 5:30pm on Saturday, so there is no way we win the sound battle... hmmm, they do have WiFi for audio... or an old fashioned radio...

First time watching theW.tv. I got a great picture on my laptop. I had no sound for the first several minutes, and turned on Bill Johnson. But the audio was about 5 seconds ahead of the video, and I had no way to sync them. About the time I was going to watch in silence, theW.tv sound came on.

I did that, too... that way you know what to look for on the video! I actually don't mind that, when its only about 5-10 seconds ahead.

Re: Pilots @ LMU, Thursday 7:00pm
(1.) Agreed...in the past I've had the ear buds from the radio broadcast, but that is NOT a satisfactory way to interact with one's fellow fans. (2.) Absolutely! But as you may recall, BWW is a sponsor of UP basketball......and really, that's probably enough reason for UP to send the fans there. (3.) That was my first thought too......NoPoNeighbor wrote:(1.) If they don't have sound for the game, I'll watch for home.........
(2.) I really wish that UP had arranged to do this with a local North Portland sports bar (Tom's, Greely Bar & Grill...), rather than a national chain franchise.
(3.) NOTE: the video for Saturday's game is coming from Pepperdine's in-house feed, rather than TheW.tv. Is Buffalo Wild Wings going to figure out how to show that on their TVs?
Will someone give us a rundown of the BWW experience this evening?

Wait... Is there another way to get the W.tv besides off the web?

Ha ha, yes you are correct Geez. My concern is not so much the ability to pick up the signal on the internet, but the QUALITY of the broadcast based upon what we've seen from other schools in comparison to the wonderful quality of the UP broadcast. #spoiledPurpleGeezer wrote:Wait... Remember the streaming of the Stanford women's soccer match?

Re: Pilots @ LMU, Thursday 7:00pm
If we were less than totally satisfied with UP’s winning performance, can you imagine how the LUM fans must feel.
I don’t read other team’s boards, but Coach Max Good said, "We knew going in that if we didn't force their shooters to pass they could really hurt us, and sure enough, they did," "This team (LMU) is very hard working and it showed in erasing that halftime deficit. Their shooters got hot and give them credit; they are a good basketball team."
Good was of course referring to LMU going on a 11-2 run to start the second half to take 40-38 lead on Ireland's three-pointer with 17:33 to play. But from there, UP’s defense would tighten and the Pilots’ three-point shooting would get hot. UP started 1-for-7 from behind the arc, but would go five-for-five from long range in a 20-4 run over a seven minute span to take a 14-point lead…..they never looked back, but many of was were still nervous until the 2 minute mark.

Well, yeah, but that's not on BWW. Whatever crappy signal we get in Portland will be drinking beer at home or drinking beer there.
And I remember the feed from the WOSO game at Pepperdine was a lot better than from Palo Alto, the uhhh, home of the internet.

I just checked the LMU board after DD's post.
They had ennui going into the game.
Maybe Pressley caught it.

Wait, they’re using that kind of word on the LMU board? ....wow! I'm happy to be a simple UP grad.PurpleGeezer wrote:I just checked the LMU board after DD's post.

So if they had ennui going into what was termed their "coming home game," was it because they were looking forward to GU on Saturday? Good! That's what many UP fans were looking forward to by having GU back as a travel partner.

Actually, they characterized our game as a "must win" for them. They projected that a loss to us followed by a loss to GU would propel them to the bottom of the conference. But a win and some other wins or a GU upset would put them in line for that all important 6th place finish. They also implied this was a make or break game for Max Good. They are not happy now.

Not the team, the board.
Then our comrades discuss whether it is ennui.
TWO guys down there know the word.

I sense major ennui on the board - I'll admit, I'm close to that feeling also unless we turn things around soon - like tomorrow evening.

I don't know if it's ennui so much as utter frustration.

Thought the broadcast talent was just fine and to be honest, I've been impressed with TheW.tv streaming so far. They've done a great job of introducing an online platform with near TV quality production - at no cost to the end user (for now).
