The BYU game will be on BYUtv at 6 PM PST on Thursday, and the USD game will be streamed live here http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/usd.portal at 2 PM on Saturday.

Portland does NOT have to win the upcoming road games to stay in 6th place….. however, as they will next face GU in Spokane, just a split would go a long way towards securing a Friday start in Las Vegas.

Unlike the men’s teams that would have a day off on Friday after play-in games on Thursday in Las Vegas, the women’s second round begins on Friday, so it’s considered very important to avoid the bottom four places in the standings.

UP is really not given much chance against BYU in Provo, but as the Pilots have already beaten USD in the Chiles Center when the Toreros were #24 in the nation, they might have some confidence going into the game.

The "experts" are predicting the Pilots will lose both games by around 14 points.  If the Pilots can to pass the ball and avoid turnovers like they did during their weekend sweep of LMU and PU, they have a chance.

UP loses to BYU, 67-43, after trailing by only 3 at the half.

It was an expected result as BYU has two incredibly good players who together outscored the Pilots team by 6 points.

I just finished watching video of the game, and I have to say that although the Pilots were dominated in the 2nd half, they performed well against a superior sized team.

The ladies have got to get to San Diego and get their legs back for an important game on Saturday afternoon after playing at altitude tonight.

Pilots lose to USD, 59-52.

Down by only 3 with about 90 seconds to go, UP just couldn’t overcome the deficit in free-throws…..UP was 3 for 5; USD was 15 for 25.

I’ve said it before; the referees are absolutely ruining the women’s game in the WCC.
