@ Gonzaga – Saturday @ 2 PM
Realistically, this game in Spokane will NOT be close. Kelly Graves’ team is just too talented to lose to the Pilots, especially at home.
As this will be Jim Sollars’ last game against his former assistant, Graves, I’m sure Kelly and the GU athletic department will have something special planned to honor Jim before the game begins……after that, there’ll be no mercy.

1. GU 13-2
2. BYU 11-4
3. SMC 9-5
4. UOP 9-5
5. USD 9-6
6. UP 7-8
7. LMU 5-9
8. USF 4-10
9. SCU 4-10
10. PU 1-13
Much the same as the men’s team, the women are fighting to hold onto 6th place in the WCC….but it would appear the Pilots are going to have to win one more game to clinch the spot.
Their only rival is LMU, and if the Lions were to win two of their remaining four games, which would appear reasonable, and the Pilots were not to win another game, the Lions will take over 6th place by virtue of their current tie-breaker….a win over SMC.
However, UP has a win over USD, so the tie-breaker scenario could still change.
UP’s remaining games are @ GU and home against UOP and SMC
LMU’s remaining games are home against USD and BYU, and away at SCU and USF

Coach Graves didn't rub it in over his former mentor, Coach Sollars, but the Pilots still lost, 72-61.
When your team scores only 2 second-chance points while your opponent puts in 25, you really don't have much of a chance of coming away with a win.
After 3 straight losses….the Pilots will now play two at home, UOP and SMC, before heading to Las Vegas.

Just in case there are any Gonzaga fans checking this board from time-to-time, I thought I'd start a disturbing rumor (disturbing for GU fans, that is).
With Chip Kelly moved on from UO to the NFL, it is definitely time for another Kelly to show up in Eugene.
Did anyone notice the UO women's head coaching job is now open? Kelly Graves got his start at UP before moving on to head coaching gigs at SMC and GU. He's become an institution in Spokane and he's raised his family there.....do you suppose the challenge of Pac-12 basketball and a chance at a Final Four berth will pry him away from GU?
Kelly is paid very, very well in Spokane.....I'm guessing UO could double his salary with a multi-year contract......
The rumor is starting here...let's see how it plays out!
