Although in a different circumstance, the Pilots showed up against teams like UNC and MSU, can they bring that same excitement and fire this afternoon against GU??  And if they do, can it be sustained over 40 minutes?  

Gonzaga last played a week ago, and in that game at UOP, the Zags allowed 90 points in its 99-90 win.  GU has given up an average of 78 points, 47.3% field-goal shooting and 40.7% on 3-pointers in its 7 WCC games...and ironically, the only team to not exceed 70 points was LMU, in its 68-67 upset in Spokane.  

But in its win, the Lions hit almost 50% of their shots while playing "slow ball," working the clock on almost every possession.

What is UP's game plan tonight?  Go slow like LMU did? Or spread the court and pop 3-point shots like UOP did?  

UP lost 115-75 in Spokane, so even if the Pilots score a bunch, can they stop GU from scoring?

Whatever the outcome, it should be a fun game...

So far the Pilots have been completely uncompetitive against every team ahead of them in the standings. Would love to see a performance today that makes it appear the two teams belong in the same conference, rather than the Pilots looking like they belong in D3.

They played very competitively against Gonzaga today. More later. Chika on Timme! Gorosito on fire.
But where is Joey St Pierre? He was on the bench but never played.t

Why dislike?

Is Sjolund hurt?   No idea why he’s on the bench.   Even if he’s in a shooting slump, you don’t get out of it riding on the pine.  Not to mention he offers energy, rebounding, second chance points, blocks, and an intimidating defense.

Better grit than the Kennel game, but a loss is a loss. Greatness from Wood, Gorosito, and Chika/T-Rob on defense, but no excuses letting one player score 40 points on you. Zags may be having a real down year, but the experience showed.

I know Joey St Pierre is slow but he is tall and might help out when our starters need a blow.
But why is Joey St Pierre not playing - at all.
He suits up. He’s on the bench.
Is he injured?
Is he in Coach’s bad graces.
