Track-Korey Thieleke

As reported on portlandpilots.com, Korey Thieleke participated in the 100 m and 200 m at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific University. He won his heats in both events. Korey had the 5th fastest time in the 200m (21.64) Winner's time was 21.31. He tied for 14th in the 100m (10.99). Winner's time was 10.56. This was Korey's first competition of the season. Congratulations, Korey!

Bryan Clay has an invite named after him, that's cool.

......and Kaylie van Loo, who is on the women's basketball team, threw the javelin at the Beach Invite.

Her heave of 146'11 places her at second on the all-time list at UP.  

For those of us who donated to Korey's online fund site to help him achieve his goal of his goal participating in the Olympic Trials in Eugene, it is interesting to note that he was only able to raise $2680 toward his modest goal of $6500, but he is going to Eugene anyway.....not to compete, but as a Nike employee.
