DD you had to see it to believe it. I am the first to realize that sports are about both winning and losing and I have no problem accepting that. What tonight was just a flat out horrific effort on our part. Not to take anything away from LMU but this one was all on us.

From the sound(s) of it, I'm glad I didn't!

I'll miss the PU game on Saturday too....guess I should check-in with PilotNation before checking the DVR late Saturday night. pale

Granted I am an optimist so I am hoping that tonight was a wake up call and they play to their potential on Saturday.

LMU shot lights out from 3, their forward had a career night by several points, and they outhustled for many rebounds. Pilots were overpassing at the start of the game, and instead of getting great shots, they were getting turnovers. Plus, post play was soft again, getting blocked when a power move would have gotten a foul. When they were behind, the long shots were desperate, and the low percentage reflected that.

If this keeps up, there are three freshmen that are going to get a lot more playing time.

LMU shot lights out from 3, in part due to many being wide open/uncontested.

The blocks at the rim were brutal--I don't see our bigs consistently go up strong to finish... we go up soft or pump fake (with mixed results). Dunk the dang ball!

How about we overhaul the starting lineup? The veterans are far too inconsistent for the coaches to place any trust in them from here on out. What do we have to lose?

Let Bailey, VDM and company scrap and fight for minutes coming off the bench. The result can't be any worse than the last two games.

Well, a sure sign of a bad loss is when mikemac65 is posting...so this one couldn't have been too good.

Was thinking after halftime that the Pilots couldn't possibly play any worse in the second half than they did in the first. Then they opened up the second with two turnovers in a row...an immediate entry lob to absolutely no one and a ball thrown away on a 3-on-1.

I don't like to be overly negative on here because let's be real, I contribute nothing to the program and just enjoy watching college hoops. But man, last night was just frustrating to watch...honestly, it reminded me of the 2012-13 Pilots with the ball slowly being worked around the perimeter with frequent half-assed shot fakes and the occasional pass to someone at the elbow with nothing ever really opening up. And the other side of the ball, so many breakdowns leading to LMU scoring (by far) their most points per possession of any game this year.

In the span of six days, this team has gone from a top-four hopeful to one that's probably now in a dog fight to avoid playing in the damn play-in round at Vegas for the fifth year in a row. And the schedule isn't doing them any favors...the Pilots are going to be heavy underdogs in three of the next four games including tomorrow at Pepperdine. They could very well be 3-7 heading into a difficult road swing at USF and SCU.

There's my negative post for the year...I would like nothing more than for this group of players and staff to have on-court success this season, and there's still plenty of time for that to happen. Put this dog in the rear-view mirror and get better.

Am I the only one that is tired of having these types of results and discussions year after year? I try to not get too bogged down (or overly excited) on any one result... but man, I am getting frustrated with the lack of success in this program.
