Some games of note as college hoops finally gets going tomorrow!

North Dakota State @ UC Davis
Colorado vs #7 Iowa State (Sioux Falls, SD)
#9 Gonzaga vs Pittsburgh (Okinawa, Japan)
Pacific at #12 Arizona
San Diego at USC
Pepperdine at Fresno State

Good idea, TC.

I would add Cal St. Fullerton at LMU as they are both UP opponents this season.

In my defence there's like 200 games today so I was bound to miss a relevant one!

I didn't mention BYU, USF, SMC or Santa Clara either - they all play bunnies today.

Agreed!

But as we are talking about NCAA D1 play, today, Friday the 13th.....anything can happen!  Let's just hope UP's bunny doesn't turn into some sort of killer rabbit.. albino

Hmm, SCU lost their Friday the 13th Cable Car Classic game to Lipscomb in 2-OT and USF squeaked by in theirs by 2 points.

LMU did beat CS Fullerton, but PU lost a Fresno St.

Boise St., considered to be one of UP's toughest preseason opponents lost to Montana in Missoula, and Sac St., thought to be having a down year, beat Arizona St. in Tempe.   scratch

UP's next opponent, UC Davis, lost at home in OT to highly regarded North Dakota St. (NC St. is ranked about 88 notches better than UP by KenPom).

And in case you haven't heard, GU vs. Pitt in Okinawa was called off at the half due to a slippery floor.

Really unfortunate... I wonder if there was another Zappos floor logo issue... Rolling Eyes

So does that game just go down as cancelled... no impact to records, RPI, etc.? FWIW, Pitt was up by 2.

No Zappos this time, just high humidity (89%) and temperature (79) in the early morning after thunderstorms with no a/c.....hey, it's a Marine Corps base....they don't need no stinkin's a/c.

Yup, the game never happened....no result: no stats.

Only 33 points against Denver? Sheesh...and now they have to play UW Milwaukee, who's already beat both of the teams SCU has lost to in the last two days.

One of UP's opponents in the Moda Center, CS-Fullerton, went on a 7-0 run to beat UOP in Stockton, 77-76 tonight.  CS-F previously lost by 5 at LMU and next play at USD on Saturday.

Watched BYU start slow and finally lose to CS-Long Beach last night, 66-65....a game they honestly should have won.

No other surprises as most games are going to form.

CSU defeats LMU 83-75 at the Moby Morgue. LMU actually played pretty well, and lead the game throughout the first half and stayed within 5-6 in the second half. Brandon Brown looked really good.

And all three other WCC teams playing last night lost.

Rough start for the WCC. 6-15 against D1 schools including 1-5 against the Big West, 0-3 against the Mountain West, and 0-3 against the Pac-12.

Pepperdine pounded by an average Drake team tonight. Waves are now 1-4 against D1 teams this year.

To be honest, we're looking at a pretty clear-cut top three in the WCC right now. And it's the three usual suspects.

Gonzaga held on to beat UConn 73-70 today.  Zags had a big lead, but UConn got as close as 1 at the end.  Came down to the "do we foul up three" at the end.  They didn't, twice.  Got a block first, and then a UConn miss to win.

WCC still struggling.  In addition to the Pilot loss tonight, SCU lost to Evansville and is now 0-7. USD lost to San Jose St and is now 0-5.

A tale of two halves....UA outscored GU 40-25 in the second.

GU was in complete control before Wiltjer, who scored a quick 29 points, and Sabonis both went totally cold. GU played without Karnowski....out for the second straight game with back spasms.

Honestly, the GU team, except for Wiltjer and Sabonis is unrecognizable from last year.....IF a team is good enough to stop those two and Karnowski they can beat the Bulldogs....but a team like UP will most likely have to shoot over the top.

Very quiet in the Kennel the last 10 minutes.

It was a good game to watch....both teams will be very tough for UP to beat.

Weber St. has a forward that can pull down rebounds with the best and can also shoot the 3-pointer, and a guard that may not be Damian Lillard, but can seemingly score at will.

Weber State made 15 of its first 20 shots and finished the first half shooting at a 67% clip, but they had four quick turnovers to start the second half and BYU used a 9-2 run to take the lead for good.
