PSU struggled to host a football game against Western Oregon at Hillsboro Stadium last year. Ticket sales, concessions, ushers all seemed to be college kids who didn't really know what was going on. It might be pretty entertaining to watch them try to host the tournament.

As far as hosting, I once asked someone in the Athletic Department about whether UP would ever consider hosting. In short, no. The host school is responsible for providing most of the logistics and a lot of the behind the scenes work/transportation/hospitality/support... so much so that it essentially requires schools with football programs to have enough staff members/bodies/employees. The WCC, as a conference, has hosted a time or 2 in the Bay Area where they could combine efforts of several programs.
Gonzaga never hosts when the tourney is in Spokane... it is always WSU or Idaho (also because GU could not play there when also the host). UW hosts in Seattle (not Seattle U). Check out the other hosts... they aren't mid-majors without football.

I would love to see is a College Cup at Providence Park hosted by UP (with support from the Timbers/Thorns/T2)!
As cool as it would be to host the College Cup (again), I don't see that happening in the next few decades. From discussion over the last few years, I think you need to play at least half of your home games at the site you host the tourney. As long as it's held in December, the College Cup will be held in a warm-weather climate. Now if we could get the NCAA to extend the season to spring . . .
Regarding the lack of video boards displaying out of town scores in the Moda Center, I wonder how much can be chalked up to NCAA regulations. Blazer games have lots of stats available, so it might have been a matter of lack of support staff to make it happen, if it was even possible in the first place.

It's been warmer in Portland than in North Carolina the last couple times they hosted there.
As to the host playing at least half of the games where they host for the CC ... that isn't so. You have to play the majority at a venue to host an early round game.
The Final weekend can be anywhere. Cary isn't generally the normal venues of the teams that claim to be host there. The next four cups won't be at regular college venues.
Next year will be at FAU's football stadium.
The one after that will be at Wakemed, where NC State plays only select games.
The two after that will be at Orlando SC stadium, which isn't even completed yet and where no college team plays.
But I don't see us hosting at Providence Park. They will want to be on the UP campus. The only way to do that is to expand to 7000-8000.

Re: 2015 CIT Information!
It wasn't that long ago that UP was hoping to knock-off Sac St and then play Northern Arizona.
Well, NAU had a good run, but tonight they lost the CIT Championship game to Evansville at Evansville.
It was a very good game....NAU had the lead much of the night, but some very timely steals and rebounds went Evansville's way for a 71-65 victory. NAU had come into the game by winning 11 of their last 13....and their two losses were by 2 points on the road.
