Super Bowl L Empty Super Bowl L

Post by Guest Sun Jan 24, 2016 8:44 pm

I know, they're calling it Super Bowl 50, but why change from the roman numerals now? So we get the long time star Peyton Manning against the newcomer Cam Newton. The #1 defense of the Broncos vs. the #1 offense of the Panthers. Who do you think will win, and why?

My heart tells me Denver, but my head is yelling "Panthers!!"

Definitely wanted Manning to beat Brady and Belichick today, and the Broncos defense allowed that to happen, but Carolina has just been so strong all year, it would seem the only way they can lose is to play too conservatively.

If Denver can contain Newton and Carolina in the first half, while developing some momentum of their own, they have a chance, but the vaunted Bronco defense will be put to the test against a QB that will not go down as easily as Brady did today.

Panthers by 12.

Even if Shaq Barrett and the Broncos D manage to slow down Cam, I suspect Denver's offense won't be able to keep up.
Nice to see Peyton on bootlegs and even rushing for a first down. They never saw it coming!
Go Broncos!

Because Super Bowl L looks dumb on all the marketing.

The Panthers look really good. I just don't think Peyton has enough left in the tank.

Haha, yeah I totally agree....

Super Bowl I was very cool as were X, XX, and XXX.  XL was OK, but L is for lame.....it looks like the entry level model designation of my old Datsun. tongue

Super Bowl L Bronco10

Super Bowl L Topcat11

I pick Carolina.

Hahaha, I like your style 7587.  But if we are to use your criteria, there's a good chance the Cowboys could win the Super Bowl:

But if we're talking about this year's Super Bowl only, I think the Broncos have a chance:

Five of those are CSU products. Only got three players on the team though.

OK, who picked Denver? And had Carolina with only 10 points?

Well, I picked the Broncos cheerleaders, but having not seen the Panthers play this year, I really expected them to have a much better offensive line that would allow Carolina to score at least 20 points.

A couple of highlights for me were, 1. 49 years worth of MVPs prior to the game, and 2. Beyonce' and her girls at halftime.

I'm still calling this half right. If it weren't for the Panther's fumbling on the 5 yard line, Denver would not have scored an offensive touchdown. Embarassed

Funny thing, if they had kicked the FG instead of scoring the last TD, they probably still would have won (two score lead with 2 min left), and done so without an offensive TD. Defense wins championships.
