Women's Final Four
The teams are set in the women's bracket, and unlike the men's, there are no low seeds. There are two #1 seeds (S. Carolina, Virginia Tech., a #2 seed Iowa, and a #3 seed LSU. A total of 12 losses on the year among all four teams, and Iowa has 6 of them. USC has none. Iowa has the best individual player, Caitlin Clark.

Re: Women's Final Four
WBB has never had the parity that MBB enjoys, especially this postseason.
I assume there are brackets for WBB, but no one makes a big deal out of them because the top seeds nearly always win.
It would be quite a surprise and an upset if South Carolina were to not win this year's trophy.
The only out of the ordinary aspect of this year's Tournament was LSU Coach Kim Mulkey's outfit (even for her) at the Sweet 16 game when #3 LSU beat #2 Utah, 66-63.

I couldn't help but think of the skit with Will Ferrell and Cheri Oteri from SNL the cheerleaders, there is a striking resemblance.

Yes, for sure!up7587 wrote:Power game lost.
The team with all the stats and points insides lost to the Iowa team with the phenomenal Caitlin Clark who scored 41 points.
The POY, Clark is arguably the one of the Top-10 best players this century.
For defending NCAA Champion South Carolina, the loss broke a 42-game winning streak.
It should be quite a final when #2 Iowa and Coach Kim Mulkey's #3 LSU meet on Sunday.

Re: Women's Final Four
Kim Mulkey has always had her haters because she can be outrageous, at times a bully, and always belligerent...but she just won another NCAA Championship, this time at LSU in a relatively easy, 102-85 victory over Iowa.
It is my recollection that she won an NCAA Championship at Louisiana Tech as a point guard, and three at Baylor as a coach...and she's won an Olympic Gold Medal and a Pan American Games Gold Medal.
I like her, but I haven't talked to many who do, but they certainly have to admire her if winning counts for anything...

Re: Women's Final Four
Early in today's game her team threw the ball away for a turnover, and she screamed at her player from the sideline. Made Coach Meek look mild.

Re: Women's Final Four
Those of us who regularly attend the women's games are, to put it mildly, often frustrated/outraged by the officiating, and it did not seem much better during the NCAA Tournament games I watched...which were quite a few.
Today's championship game was likely officiated by officials that were graded highest throughout the season, but they were not good!!
Iowa and LSU are two very physical and fast-moving teams that were ready to get it on in a slugfest before the refs decided to slow it down by calling ticky-tacky contact fouls...it was ridiculous!!
Advice to the refs: For heaven's sake, let them play, let them get into a rhythm...don't make the game about you, and quit making so many questionable calls against each team's star players and making them play more conservative for fear of fouling out.
The two refs I recognized were Pac-12 refs, and the Pac-12 does not play the physical game like that played in the Big-10 and SEC...and the refs were obviously not used to such play. Terrible!

Re: Women's Final Four
Agree entirely. This game was more about the officials than the teams. Even the television announcers were incredulous at times. LSU was having one hell of a game, but we'll never know what Iowa could have done because of the referees.

Never said he would, but Mulkey is out of control on the sideline, or over the sideline where she spent half her time.
