Spending Ducks
I guess the Duck alumni now are a little peaved at the cost of their new facility--it is sounding more and more like the rest of the taxpayers will ultimately contribute, whether Beaver, Duck, Pilot, Viking . . .or anybody not covered by those affiliations.

Re: Spending Ducks
Well, Canzano shares your concern, PilotNut, referring to the insular clique of businessmen aligned to insure this arena is built, notwithstanding the use of phony revenue projections, as engaged in a "secretive flim-flam game." Can't get much more direct than that . . .
One wonders what our representatives, ever vigilant of the taxpayer interests (sarcasm here), need to know in order to come to the now almost obvious conclusion that the taxpayers will end up bailing out this pork barrel. Though the Ducks are popular, some fiscal sanity should apply to their grand arena scheme.
The three million citizens of Oregon, along with you, should indeed consider contacting their representatives to obtain political representation, so far absent and silent on guaranteeing the bill of the Ducks brand new basketball arena. Perhaps it is too late . . .
Canzano has this to say:

His column is linked in his blog. The column is far more detailed.
What projects will need to be set aside in order to build it? Do you really want to use your dollars to build this?
