Re: Selection Show Thread
Nice pics, ohh_yeah! I'm sure the players will really appreciated those close-ups.
Great to see the basketball staff there, supporting the other teams. That's one thing Coach Reveno is very good with... and it's a nice difference from previous coaches.
And, of course, I'm glad to see my dad made it there since I couldn't!

Darn blew my cover
Nah, isn't it interesting though, to wonder how many of the posters in here you actually have seen at many many games over the years?

I asked for the Pilots to host for my birthday and I guess I got my wish. Why can't we all have birthdays for the rest of the year?

NP, is your birthday Friday or Sunday? As a Sunday birthday, I wholly second your sentiments!

It's today, actually. It was an early-birthday wish for the selection.

No. 2 Seed? Yeah, right...
Wished I could have been there. I probably would have enjoyed the selection process gawking at all my fav players and alums.
Got myself too psyched yesterday and went online all alone. I really was expecting a #1 seed, although UPSF warned right before the show that it was very close between Standford and UP for the final #1 seed. I should have known then that that would give have given the committee reason enough to dump on us.
I usually don't worry about things beyond my control, or in this case, the team's control. But we were 17-1-0, with a strong RPI and our only loss was to UCLA, who was #2 in the country at the time, and they ended their season 18-0-2. If the Pilots were undefeated and untied would they have leap-frogged over everybody to #1???? And, by the way, what good is it being the #2 ranked team in the nation with a 16 match winning streak, if you're getting a #2 seed regardless?
Why should we even bother with national rankings during the season. This proves they don't mean squat!
Well, that's my rant. I've been holding it inside for 24 hours because I was so p/o last night about the seed snub, I shut off PN, ate a bowl of cereal for dinner, (telling my wife to forget abou the pork chops), and just went to bed at about 6pm. (Yeah, I medicated, but it didn't seem to matter much.) Just sleep...sleep, sleep.................zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Part Deux!
So we're hosting the first 3 rounds, if we win 1 and 2. And if Stanford stumbles, we host the Quarters. Plus, for good measure, because of the way the brackets are set up, we can't possibly lose to UCLA in the Quarters down in LA for the third straight year.
And something tells me we can beat Stanford.
Ahh, after getting the rant out, things feel much, much better!

Re: Selection Show Thread
FANatic,
Nice to see you back. Yes it was a bit of a snub missing the 1 seed but like you said we got on the other side from UNC and UCLA which I think are the two schools that could give us trouble. So I was happy.

Re: Selection Show Thread
Thanks Auto. Like I've said before, when we won it all in 2002 and 2005, we won games on the road. And being sent packing for rounds 1/2 in 2005, even with a #1 seed, well it don't get much more nutty than that!
I just got too wrapped up in it. And that is because I don't have too many things I'm passionate about.
But I sure am passionate about OUR TEAM. And when you really leave yourself vulnerable because of something or someone you love, it can come back and bite you on the bum HARD. So I gotta harden my backside a little bit while not losing that special connection with the Pilots.
