CBS Team Update
All in all, a fair report on the team: CBS Sportsline
Too bad the comment regarding attendance at the Howard game fails to note that the game was played during a blizzard and no one could get around...

Re: CBS Team Update
Yeah... That's someone nowhere near here reading a box score and making a snide comment... They should have mentioned that all attendees 21 and over were treated to free Widmer Hef at halftime in the Pilot Club....

Re: CBS Team Update
The CBS Sportsline guy could have used a Hef while writing that review.

Re: CBS Team Update
441! I don't think there were anywhere near that many people in attendance. Since there was no gate, I wonder who made that estimate. I'd say there was closer to fifty of us.

Re: CBS Team Update
I would say they counted the season tickets in that number since those have been sold whether the holders came or not, but surely there are more than ~400. But 441 was the number listed in the box score. Mysterious, indeed.

Re: CBS Team Update
Haha I would say 200 at the absolute max... I mean it was EMPTY and quiet, even after they started piping in music during breaks.

Re: CBS Team Update
Boy. They need to let the CBS guys get to know the teams that they are covering a little bit better. These articles are all about stats and no personality. Ya quiero una cerveza.

Re: CBS Team Update
I have to say the write up there is a definite improvement. I like how the writer showed the team and Reveno some respect, and they refer to how Reveno's style came from his time at Stanford under Montgomery. It actually seems like someone did their homework in writing this article.

Re: CBS Team Update
Hmmh, not to start any controversy but I guess some PilotNation regulars were on the mark about Rev. "interviewing" for the Stanford job. Thank goodness his record has been so absymal before this year from the state of the program when he took over.
This may be early thinking, but with the last coach getting a buyout PU probably can scrape up some "extra money". I think the AD may want to think about an extension and raise if Rev. keeps improving the Pilot's and maintaining the high academic standard's of PU.
New recruits always like to know the coach that is recruiting them isn't going to further his career at a better opportunity. I can hear it now " Well he's had two terrible seasons, why should he get a raise or extension?". Look a Indiana, Duke etc before their long term coach's took over, LOSING TEAM'S!!! Not to say that Pilot's would ever as a mid-major experience anything close to their sucess or that "hick school" to the north's sucess.
It just be nice to know the Pilot's have a program changing coach with high academic standards and "basketball smart's" instead of the turmoil like Alabama or LMT are experiencing right now.
Lately Rev has seemed to be getting smarter and smarter on those Podcast's to us Pilot hardcore's. Isnt it funny how winning makes a coach wiser, lol. I like his attitude, he's not content,or letting the players rest on their laurels. He's sure banded a bunch of players together with the team unity, and tough defense concept. Also, I admire a coach who can move the 1 team captain out of the starting lineup down the bench now that take's "gut's" and isn't alway's the popular move to make when fan's and alum see it happening. Although I didn't think it a poor change at all, no tears from this guy. It's who is the better player for the team in my book. For a band of 2-star prep's and JC transfer's Rev has done pretty well so far....just think what he could do if he could just keep one or two of the local kid's from leaving the area.
