Yeah, we have that covered on the "Surprise to all Portland fans" post.
Pretty exciting. We're all looking forward to seeing both players soon.

Having Pooh playing in Portland again would be great, but seems like a real longshot.

Patty just broke his foot. This sucks . What a great player, and nice young kid.
He is out for the whole summer league.

Ugh, terrible news for Patty...

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Portland Trail Blazers draft pick Patty Mills broke his right foot during practice and won't play in the NBA's Summer League.
The Blazers said Friday that Mills fractured the fifth metatarsal in his right foot during practice Thursday night. A timetable for the point guard's return has not been determined.
Mills was scheduled to see a specialist on Friday.
"You never want to see a player get injured, but it is especially heart wrenching to see a young man go down on his first day of camp," Portland general manager Kevin Pritchard said. "We'll do everything we can to help Patty get back on track to realize his NBA future."
After starring for Australia in the Beijing Olympics and for Saint Mary's in college, Mills was selected by the Blazers with the 55th overall pick in the NBA draft last month.
The 6-foot, 175-pound Mills averaged career highs of 18.7 points, 4.0 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 2.5 steals during his sophomore season with the Gaels before deciding to turn pro.
Thursday was Portland's first day of practice for the summer league, which starts Friday in Las Vegas. The Blazers open play Monday against Toronto.
The Blazers' roster for the summer league includes second-year guard Jerryd Bayless and draft picks Jeff Pendergraph and Dante Cunningham.

Re: Pooh Jeter - Portland Trailblazers Summer League
I'm wondering whats next for Patty. Having an injury like that gives the Blazers no time to really evaluate, and even when training camp rolls around he would just be getting back and eval time would be limited. I guess I'm wondering what his options are, could he go to the D-League (and if he did would the Blazers keep their rights to him?) or possibly Europe (which would probably be way more financially beneficial than the D-League) for at least a season to, um, season? Clearly the kid has shown his ability to perform against top level competition in the Olympics. It's just unfortunate that after all that hype after the games and the first half of the college bball season, he's had such a horrible turn of luck (not to mention BAD advice to come out a year early). I hope for a speedy recovery and that we can see him out on the court, where he belongs, sometime soon!

I think it's Pooh's time; there's nothing left for him to prove in the development league or abroad.

He gave up his quest for fame and settled into the bureaucracy.

Just keep clear of the beer in the back of the cooler with the big red circle for a label.
And make sure you vacuum the carpet in the 3K suite. The last time you snuck in there you left potato chip crumbs on the rug.

Re: Pooh Jeter - Portland Trailblazers Summer League
Just FYI... Stiegl is finally available in Portland!!! My feelings can be summed up thusly:
So expect to see some more Goldbrau in the lounge beyond what DTR and I smuggled across the California-Oregon border coming back from our epic road trip to Pacific.

Re: Pooh Jeter - Portland Trailblazers Summer League
Back to the original topic... Poohs line from tonight:
10 pts on 3-6 FG and 4-4 FT, 3 st, 3 TO in... 15 mins??
I know they are trying to focus on Jerryd Bayless, but haha Thomas Gardner goes 0-8 in 29 mins?? Hmmmm

Any assists? I doubt they will look at Pooh for scoring?

Re: Pooh Jeter - Portland Trailblazers Summer League
No... zero assists. But without watching the game, it's tough to know if he was even playing minutes at PG. Hopefully someone on BlazersEdge or something will break down the game a bit and talk about Pooh a bit.
Still... 10 points in 15 minutes, not bad. Also, you've got to love that he shot four free throws, which I assume means he was being aggressive going to the basket.

I read Stoney's post and that was my exact thought...then I scrolled down and saw that you already said it. I guess that is why you are a moderator and I am Dave Johnson at the end of the bench.

The really funny thing is that after I posted it I tried to go back and edit it to add "We Love Freethrows!" but my wireless cut out at that point and I just gave up. You can't make that kind of stuff up. Great minds think alike.

Re: Pooh Jeter - Portland Trailblazers Summer League
Nice game by Pooh tonight even though the Blazers lost 87-82.
15 points, 6 assists and only 1 turnover in 21 minutes. I heard a bit of the 4th quarter on the radio and I'm pretty sure they said Pooh had all of his points in the second half and he was playing crunch time minutes at the point.
