Wish he could have played linebacker against Stanford. Ducks needed someone to stop Gerhart.
If having a good Boise State team win there was painful enough to throw a punch, imagine what he would have done after Stanford put up 50 points...

It seems a pattern is starting to emerge for Oregon running backs . . .

U-g-l-y.
Here's Canzano's column this morning:
Canzano
Whatever you think of Canzano, he brings up good points. This is unacceptable behavior. If true, these guys should be gone. I love watching James run the football, but I can't cheer for someone who chokes his girlfriend. There is no place for that in this life.

Are you sure UO didn't hire Rick Neuheisel as head coach? This has early 00s UW football written all over, haha and we know where that story leads...

Re: Soooo....Blount?
While in no way do I defend it, I can at least understand punching someone who just taunted you after a football game.
I cannot understand ever putting your hands on a woman. It is absolutely inexcusable. If these allegations are credible, he should be kicked off the team and out of the school.
I can understand the school waiting until the police and DA finish an investigation, but Kelly has time to make a decision on this one. He needs to make a decision and stick with it this time.

What's your opinion on (allegedly) stealing laptops?? Maybe we should ask Doug Gottlieb on that one... (although I guess it was credit cards...)
And yeah, compared to this, Blount's transgression was undoubtedly trivial. I really don't see how James can be let back on the football team, I mean if a coach can get canned for putting a player in a shed, strangling and assaulting a woman... Uh yeah...
Schools were able to cover things like this up so easily before the internet, now they have this: Lane County Corrections

Re: Soooo....Blount?
Things were a little more complex than that. Sentencing Memorandum Seems like both parties acted out of line, but the guy got all of the punishment. Doesn't sound like actions that merit expulsion, to me. But we'll know soon.DaTruRochin wrote:strangling and assaulting a woman... Uh yeah...

James Suspended 1 Game, Masoli Suspended 1 Season
Per the Register-Guard: LINK. Sounds about right, to me.

For those of you who haven't seen it yet: http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=5476142
If it was anyone else, you wouldn't see it on ESPN, but come on, this guy should be on his best behaviour if he wants to make the team. On second thought, maybe that was his best behaviour.

Re: Soooo....Blount?
maybe it is just me, but I think this may actually help his cause. Coaches don't give a rip about fights in practice, if nothing else it shows that fire. Right or wrong it is what it is.

The NFL isn't nearly as concerned about that kind of image as the NCAA... I mean they have other things to deal with:

From Wikipidia "Cromartie has fathered at least seven children with six women living in five states, and has been named in at least five paternity suits in the past two years"
