Re: College Cup Locations
if u of p can ever host the college cup at 'civic' stadium an we are in the finals, i think we could very easily draw 10,000 fans on our own. but that will never happen as i stated above. u of p would have to play a majority of their games at civic stadium.

Re: College Cup Locations
Yeah, I was posting a hypothetical question... It is not likely to happen, due to the mutliple item mentioned... maybe we can get PSU to host there...

Re: College Cup Locations
As someone else said above, the weather out there that time of year would probably eliminate the NW from consideration.

What does the state of Florida have in the way of soccer venues? There's some good soccer down there -- do the pitches and venues match?

Re: College Cup Locations
I would question whether the hosting situation described above relates to the College Cup. It seems to me that I heard it relating to play-off games, but the CC is not hosted by one of the participants, so where the "host team" played their games seems pretty irrelevant.also, i believe that i have read somewhere that the host team must play a majority of their home games on the hosting pitch. so that means that while the pilots play their games at merlo, to host the cup it can not be held at pge park even when, an if, it is renovated.

That's not true.
Neither UNC Chapel Hill nor UNC Greeensboro, the stated hosts for the College Cup at Wakemed, play anything like the majority of their games at Wakemed, or whatever it's called this week. At most, they play one or two games a year there.
