Yikes! I see they will use the Pilots from the web feed at Kell's in Seattle.
I wonder what 400x300 pixels looks like on the big screen.

Re: Seattle U @ Portland, Tuesday, 7pm
Seattle U gave us a very tough game at the Chiles Center last year... and have added a really good player in Charles Garcia. We take this game lightly at our own peril.
Still... I expect to see a very solid win by the Pilots tonight and would be disappointed if it were a nail-biter. What I loved about the EWU game was our defense and rebounding - would love to see us continue that and make it a staple of our team this year. The outside shooting will be there every night (our shooters will occasionaly have off-nights, but we have so many of them that it will be difficult for any team to shut us down from the outside completely), but getting stops and playing tough defense is always something that can be worked on. Also hope we cut down on the turnovers and the generally sloppy play on the offensive end. I'll chalk it up to first-game jitters and all that, but one of the hallmarks of last year's team was offensive efficiency - got to maintain that this year.
Looking for another big game from Sikma, and hopefully we won't get into as much foul trouble. Would love to see Stohl get going too - EWU did a good job of denying him, but paid the price by letting TJ go off.
My prediction? A 15+ point win.

It would be entertaining to see a Garcia vs. Sikma double double contest.

Seattle U is always a tough game. I dont know what it is about that team but they always come to play.
Anybody know what their D1 status is? Are they still transitioning? What stage are they at?

SU is playing a full D-1 schedule this year. They are eligible for the NCAA tourney in 2012 (or there abouts).

Well, first I went to the women's game. Then...
This is going to be hard to believe. I was asleep.
Tonight I'll be in the Chiles center, not the chat room.
No wifi there...

On another thread we are talking about rivalries. I think if Seattle U. had not dropped basketball, they would be our main rival, not GU. They were the Northwest big-time school back in the day. And there was talk of foul play in recruiting (one story I seem to remember was that Elgin Baylor was going to come to UP until SU "stole" him). Close enough and similar enough to maintain a heated relationship with. Too bad that fell apart.

There are two wireless access points in the Chiles Center, but I believe you need to have a University account to access them...I've never tried.
During women's games I stare at those access points during the national anthem (because I can't see the flag from the band).

The way I heard it was Elgin couldn't meet UP's entrance requirements and Seattle was his second choice.

Re: Seattle U @ Portland, Tuesday, 7pm
I'm curious what kind of system Dollar is going to install for the Redhawks, they don't have the athletes to run what he played with at UCLA or coached at UW... Curious fact, he actually hired his dad to be one of his assistants (His dad was a long time high school/small college coach in the ATL area i do believe). But anyway, I'm not sure if we'll see the very deliberate pace SU employed last year or a more uptempo style to reflect their coach...

Is there anyway to watch the games on the internet in some sort of delay? There is no way I can stay up that late to watch the games. I really don't see any upside to my wife making me secure employment.

Re: Seattle U @ Portland, Tuesday, 7pm
Charles Garcia is an offensive BEAST! 21 points on 8-11 shooting. Good day, right? No. Good half.
On the other hand, from that audio, it sounds like he isn't working that hard on defense, which is good for us. Robin seems to be taking advantage of that.
Nik's having a good day so far. We're up 2 at the half, hopefully we can come out and pull away. Last year we won by 4 and never led by more than 9, so we'll see what we can do today

Good game. Some good shooting and teamwork. Nice to see them coming together.

If Garcia had somebody to work on his post moves, he'd be just awesome. It's a good thing for us he got happy feet a lot. The defense looked better than last year, really good rotation, especially the bigs.
The best part is we can do better. We still looked a bit ragged.

Yeah right Pilot Drumer,
That's all right we have Jack Sikma in our corner, not to mention Rick Ravio, or BJ's Dad (1980 US Olympic player...till Boycott)
That's not bad, we shall see if Brandon Roy ever comes close to Jack's status in the NBA since the average NBA player's career is less than 13 yrs.
What was he doing supporting Dollar bill man?, Washington Connection? The same guy Zag fans never forget for his tampering with Josh Heitfelt during recruiting. and got the Husky's penalized.
Great game Pilots. What was the crowd like, attendance anyone?

Re: Seattle U @ Portland, Tuesday, 7pm
Agreed, we still looked rusty, but had moments tonight.
Robin had a great game, glad to see several nice drives to the hoop... and an awfully nice 1 handed dunk off an alley-oop!
Luke was a monster again tonight... and really he was the one able to put the brakes on Garcia, who could really be amazing with some coaching... he had some mental mistakes as well.
SU is very athletic, and should win some games this year...
I will admit I was not comfortable at halftime... we were on the verge of foul trouble, and hadn't found a way to stop Garcia. In the 2nd half, we tightened up on defense, slowed down Garcia and hit shots. But Geezer is right--we still arent firing on all cylinders and had too many careless turnovers. We need to step up for Oregon Saturday.

The Box score says there were 1336. About par for the course early in the season. This team's fun to watch, so I think that will go up quickly.
Oregon, of course will be packed.
Here's the Seattle u article. They beat UP out of the gate
