Clownzano! Slamming a school based on internet rumors and second-hand gossip. Why is a man of his immense talents still working in a small market?
Leave UP alone, and stick to opining about the Trailblazers.

He thinks Rev would touch the lit bag of poop on the doorstep?Save the fuel. Save the limos. Save us all some time.
Call Reveno. Call Bennett. Call someone who will actually take the job.
Canzano is way too busy to give an opinion on this one. He' busy making up lists of the most influential people in Oregon that includes Phil Knight and Paul Allen third tier lackies who have no actual influence on their own, Jerry Glanville, Darius Miles, Ernie Kent,Mike Dunlap (who?), Jeremiah Masoli, and a guy who has been dead for 35 years, Steve Prefontaine.
The list two years ago included Jay Johns
The last list didn't include Reveno, BTW. He wasn't even on the list of misses, although Jennie Logsdon, Bert Koldie, and Lavonda Wagner were.
I'll leave it to you to look them up.

Re: DTR Lights Dog Poo on Canzano's Doorstep: Round 2
It's funny how Canzano thinks he's a heavy hitter.
Kolde has been one of Paul Allen's lieutenants in the Blazer front office for a long time, or he was the last time I checked. No surprise there; Canzano loves talking about the Blazers. Wagner is the Women's Basketball coach at OSU (huh?)
I look forward to next year when Canzano goes to PTFC's first MLS game and writes a column about how he's fallen in love with soccer.
ADD: the commenter who said Few has been underwhelming in recent years has got to be one of the "new" Gonzaga fans.

Kolde's main influence in Oregon is that he can get Canzano a sandwich in the VIP room at the Rose Quarter.
Logdon will bait the hook he's too squeamish to bait himself.
I'm with PPT on Wagner.

Don't be knocking Jennie. She should be on the list at about 18-20. Though I agree, not ahead of a couple of influential Pilots.

I'm honestly surprised our lizard shoe wearing, $4K tailored suit sporting, insurance selling, horribly annoying studio analyzing former coach isn't on the list... I mean he is part of every Blazers broadcast...

Nattering by the negative nabobs--perhaps there should be some note that our coach's name crops up not because he is being seriously considered, or because someone seeks to maliciously sneak him away, but because Reveno and his now stable staff have turned around a program that so many others could not. Reveno has done an admirable job here, reflecting his competence as a coach, accordingly his name is mentioned with such opportunities, though I doubt anyone at UO is going to hire him this go around. It is the next few years that worry me: it may be difficult to retain his services in the long run. Good for Canzano for recognizing talent when he sees it and implying that Reveno is exceptionally qualified for the position. A compliment from someone who calls it like he sees it, even if you disagree.
Btw, Canzano is always courageous and at times truly insightful, and admittedly at times provocative and over the top. No doubt he has an ego, but I do not think it affects his sense of place, as suggestedf. I thought his columns on Pritchard's circumstances were examples of fine journalism. Not all of us mindlessly fall into line behind power and money--speaking truth to power as Canzano does is refreshing, at least when he gets it right.

That doesn't make me want to not light a flaming bag of dog feces on his doorstep... But point taken.

Couldn't have said it better myself. We have a good coach now, and we're going to have to get used to his name being brought up. Imagine being a SMC or Gonzaga fan... they have to deal with this every year.
I, for one, take it as a compliment and just hope and pray that he stays!

Wow, I went Angelo a bit didn't I?
I think I just tire of Canzano's penchant for making himself the story (he's kind of the John Krakauer of sports "journalism"), and the basketball season is SO far away, I've go more angst than a Sid Vicious/Avril Lavigne love child...

Ha ha! No no no... not at all. Canzano is a blow hard. Of course, he's better than Chuck Culpepper, so beggers can't be choosers, but still... more often than not he's just being intentionally provocative and opinionated. Who even knows what a guy like that really believes.
All that said, I like hearing him say that he thinks Reveno can coach circles around Billy Gillespie.

I would pull the same prank as you if I took Canzano (or The O) seriously.
