Summer ball
Danielle has been busy playing for her old club team.
They have tied three games so far, this time the much vaunted Paley Blues team. 2-2

Re: Summer ball
This is a preview for Sept. 12 when the Danielle's match up. "Fox in the Box" and Toney for Penn State. That will be a good weekend of soccer!

Re: Summer ball
No relative that plays for Penn State. I graduated from there a long time ago. But I have seen about 70 Pilot soccer matches vs about 3 Penn State. My confused loyalities are very obvious. I love and closely follow the Pilots, but still want my Nittany Lions to do well. Nebraska will be a nice addition to the Big 10 or maybe we should say the "New Big 12", but that is for another topic.

Re: Summer ball
I was going to ask about how the conference moves would change the soccer landscape, especially if the Texas schools were to move to the Pac-10. We know the old Big 12 was/is full of good women's programs, so my thought would have been expansion would mean tougher competition for UO, OSU, WSU and UW. These teams play the Pilots frequently, so it might have given the Pilots' RPI an indirect boost. On the other hand, the NW schools would have had even more competition for NCAA berths.
Most of the Big 12 is staying put, though, and right now only Colorado is joining the Pac-10. Doesn't mean the Pac 10 is not still looking for new members.
(I heard there's a school in Spokane whose fans want to have a go at Pac 10 hoops... )

Re: Summer ball
If the 12Pac(tm) adds CO and UTAH, I think their rpi goes down a teensy bit.
Nebraska hasn't been much lately, so they end up in the middle or bottom of the New 12 Bigs.
Neither will affect us much.

Didn't think so. It would have gotten really interesting if the Texas schools made a move.Geezaldinho wrote:If the 12Pac(tm) adds CO and UTAH, I think their rpi goes down a teensy bit.

I think the "Conference of Champions" is looking for schools that play more than one sport.PurplePrideTrumpet wrote:(I heard there's a school in Spokane whose fans want to have a go at Pac 10 hoops... )

Re: Summer ball
I checked Nebraska's record this last year. They were all over the board for results. They finished 11-5-4 but they were very inconsistent. They beat A&M 2-1 at home, beat Oklahoma State 2-0 at home, then lost to Oklahoma State 0-3 in the Big 12 Tournament. Also lost 0-5 to Missouri.
