it is interesting that UP is dropping a sport that just accepted Seattle as an affiliate member for 2011.

FINE! We won't judge, but we will have our red pens ready when we analyze the diction, spelling and punctuation of the press release... and back to our regularly scheduled program.

Woooooo, video board! Might make for some very cool viewing parties for away games, etc. (As long as they provide pokies for us to toss at the screen for bad calls...)

Golfers get a lot of free gear (like most/all UP athletes). About a bazillion clothes for all types of weather, in order to rep Nike/UP at all times in public as well as having different clothes for different days at tournaments. Workout shoes, golf bags, travel bags, club covers, etc...

I can't say how it's all funded but it would seem there are real costs associated with fielding golfers.

Guess we'll have to wait and see what the release says today.
