West Regional Saturday in Eugene...
A preview via the Oregonian's Duck blog...

Eeek! No Kipchumba will make 1 or 2 a tough task to automatically qualify for the NCAAs, hopefully the team has proven enough already to earn an at large invite....

Re: West Regional Saturday in Eugene...
And another piece of curious information: the UP website preview of regionals lists potential runners and Joash Osoro's name is omitted. He didn't run at Pre-nationals. Is he out for the year? So, there are three of the Pilots' top five runners who seem to be in doubt. This just doesn't look like our year in cross country.

The West is usually so deep a ton of teams go. But still not great news that Kipchumba won't run. You don't want this to be a bad race for the team.

Re: West Regional Saturday in Eugene...
Just out of curiosity does regional finishing or seeding play any role in starting position in the championships or anything like that?

I don't think so.....and if so I don't think anyone cares enough to talk about it. Never heard anyone talk about it.

He said

Rob thinks there is a 95% chance we made Nationals.
He and Lars Erik Malde both qualified for the Nats as individuals.
winning a college race isn't that big a deal

I get what he's saying, I mean it's a qualifying race. But still impressive IMHO.
