Re: Bracket Pool
Yeah, I filled that out last night around 3:00 Am.
For the record, I meant to pick Syracuse as my upset.
OSU will beat either team though.

If it wasn't in the PN Bracket Pool, it didn't happen.
So how many brackets did you end up with anyway?

Re: Bracket Pool
Commentator on the Zags game just mentioned Santa Clara, USF, St. Mary's, Portland as "heavy weights". That's half the conference that they seem to think is pretty good now. The WCC only got one team in, but didn't do too shabby for what was supposed to be a down year with many young teams.

Re: Bracket Pool
I think you mean thanks for nothing Louisville(at least get the shot off) and Michigan St. (traveling on the last play? Really?) and Vanderbilt (terrible inbounds play and last shot)and Penn St (at least the other team beat them instead of them fouling up a chance to win). Way to lose the close ones. I picked those 4 games wrong by a cumulative 8 points.
And way to go Clemson turning the ball over 3 times in a row with a minute left and down 3.... Sigh.
BOOOOO BYU. If you blend the pronunciation enough they sound the same.

Re: Bracket Pool
I had the trendy Utah State pick; so much for 30 wins. I also didn't go for the Butler magic rerun. But so far Louis-stupid-ville is my only round 2 wipeout. Nice job, Pitino.

Although it's nice to get some respect from the commentators, 3 of those 4 teams went to the CIT and the other one made the NIT. Unfortunately, BYU (coming next year) and Gonzaga's non-conference strength of schedule still dwarf everyone else in the league. SCU, USF, St. Mary's, and Portland all need to strive to schedule a little bit tougher in my opinion even if we do go through some growing pains. If St. Mary's had gone .500 against 6-10 top 50 RPI teams, their chances of making the tournament would have been much higher...
Even though we make a lot of money by putting the big boys onto our schedule (like adding Kentucky this year), I still think it would make a lot of sense to add a few more high performing mid-majors because those schools have less to lose (if they lose to us) and are easier to schedule. Why not strive to add teams like Butler to the schedule?

I'm impressed, goldhelmet has Richmond in the sweet 16. I guess the rest of us will be rooting for Morehead St.

Did anybody else see this on Facebook?

Who else was a WCC team-player last night and cheered for the Zags?? Time to beat the Cougars!! Gonzaga Bulldogs - Official Site

Technically, since BYU is joining the WCC, you are a team player no matter which player you root for. Right? Honor Code vs. Zags. Talk about a dream match up.

Re: Bracket Pool
Well, BYU doesn't share their tournament allocation money with us this year sooooo UP pulling for the Zags isn't exactly altruism...
And I DO have Richmond in my sweet 16... but on my one other bracket (hahaha it's the only difference between my 2... whoops)

There was Old Dominion hype? Missed it. The media sure hypes up the whole 12 vs. 5 thing. But, I have a weird feeling that if you just picked all 5 seeds in most years you would still beat the odds... There's only one Moreland St. type of a team each year... My bracket is going to be a lot more logical and Obama-esque next year. (This has more to do with him picking 4 #1 seeds to the Final 4 than politics...)

I plan that every year Geezer.
I did have one legitimately terrible pick so far as well. Tennessee over Michigan. What was I thinking?
