Well, anymore to follow? I suspect we may well wait to the spring now? Comments?

Re: Canadian Recruit: 6'5" Shooter
The guy sounds like a great catch.
Kinda wierd when your whole recruiting class is one guy, but I think Rev only had the one slot open,
Wasn't there a second slot? I've got A.D.D. trying to keep up.

We have 2 spots for next year... Sherrard's schollie, and Jamie Jones' spot.

Re: Canadian Recruit: 6'5" Shooter
Very cool!
Yes, we still have one spot open (Jamie Jones' departure opened up that scholarship) and I would presume that we'll get a spring signee. Rev has had good luck with that up to this point... Ito, Smeulders, Raivio, Knutson, Niedermeyer... there's plenty of quality players out there to be had.
Anyway, as far as Mitrovic goes... what I've heard is that he was one of (if not THE) best shooter they had seen out on the recruiting circuit over the past two years. So that's got to mean something... together with Stohl, it sounds like we'll definitely have some sharpshooting in the coming years.
And you've got to love his size too... overall, sounds like exactly the type of guy Rev has been bringing since he got here - maybe a bit overlooked, but quality, smart players who can get the job done.
Welcome Nemanja!

Picture of Mitrovic is posted on the website... looks like he's pretty built, so that's good news!

Re: Canadian Recruit: 6'5" Shooter
Adding these mid-height guys with range is a good move. I didn't think Holton played Carl Aaker enough, and he was the same height and could knock down the long ball from time to time when he was feeling it. Hopefully, this kid is a more consistent shooter and can stretch defenses a bit more with his height.

Re: Canadian Recruit: 6'5" Shooter
I was always a Karl Aaker fan, but he was always forced to play out of position, and he was never the same after he broke his foot during the 2001-02 season.
We need shooters. I'm happy with this signing.

Re: Canadian Recruit: 6'5" Shooter
Rev is always good at picking up spring players because he's not afraid to travel and show the quality ones he cares at some of the NCAA approved games he can attend. That means alot to these Quality players still left for spring signing.
Plus, he's still has those Stanford connections and knows by experience with Coach Montgomery who's going to stay eligible and who's going to help the team.
Now let's hope he can coach the whole team as well as he did the big men at Stanford.

Re: Canadian Recruit: 6'5" Shooter
Just saw this little blurb about Mitrovic:
http://www.thehoop-la.com/ThomasOct212007.php
Wow... if schools like Columbia and Cornell are after him, there can be no doubt that he is a great student. If nothing else, it's nice to know that we're getting a player that won't be in danger of flunking out in a year or two, as has happened to far to many players over the past few years. Gotta love that Rev is putting an emphasis on that!
Toronto Northern H. S. big guard Nemanja Mitrovic 6'5" visited Portland University October 12-14. He will also work out this week for Big East team South Florida University. Mitrovic also has interest from Cornell and Columbia. He is a superb student and should make a decision about his future in the next two weeks. Nemanja's father played for the former Yugoslavian Olympic team in 1992 which played against the now legendary United States "Dream Team".

Re: Canadian Recruit: 6'5" Shooter
Once again Stonehouse provides a tidbit on the new recruit's backround. Now , Stonehouse which HS Players games do you think Rev is attending between Pilot games? Who's at the top of his list? What is he recruiting for? I think an athletic player like Sherrard would be at the top of his list , he has enough shooters (average athletes) to last for a few years.
Happy Thanksgiving,
