Santa Clara held their own @SMC tonight; that will not be an easy game for Pepp. But then again, we will have beat Pepp twice by then, so it wont matter...!!

The Pilots have two remaining games: SMC (Senior Night) and @BYU.

Pepperdine has the tie breaker by virtue of their win over USF.

The winner of the 8/9 game in Las Vegas will have to play USF and, according to many, USF is the hottest team in the WCC right now.

I just checked, there are 8 coach and 6 first class seats on Alaska 622 that arrives in LAS from PDX at 3:16pm. (Alaska 626 arrives at 11:38am, but there are 0 coach and only 6 first class available). There are, however more seats out of SEA on the three Alaska flights that get you to LAS by 3:38pm for a 6:00pm tipoff. I no nothing about the "other" airlines!

In a game that doesn't have anything to do with us, USF beat Gonzaga at home by a point. They could have moved into a tie with SMC for 1st.

Meanwhile St. Mary's got worked at Murray State. They had a bad night shooting and let the Racers shoot 58%.

How will SMC react on Thursday? Will they still be limping? Or come out firing on all cylinders?

Holt will still be out, Dellavedova has a bum ankle...

How will the Pilots react on Senior night?

Had a chance to watch SMC against Murray State today on ESPN3; State made SMC look bad! SMC was without Stephen Holt (I think he’s their best overall player), and he may be lost for the season with a knee injury. SMC attempted 14 3’s and made only 2, and no one scored over 7 points except Dellavedova with 17.

Saw a little of the USF win over Gonzaga, and it was even all the way. The Zags dominated the boards, but good balanced scoring allowed USF to pull it out 66-65.

Watched BYU over SCU; SCU played well for 25-30 minutes, but BYU’s size and experience (age?) got them the easy victory in the end.

The GU and SMC losses do not bode well for a three team WCC entry into the NCAA Tournament, but a number of ranked teams lost tonight including UNLV and San Diego St., so we shouldn’t despair.

The good thing about the GU loss is it allows the Pilots to beat SMC Thursday, but still allows SMC to win the regular season title.

This could be one heck of a WCC tournament...

I don't know, Dellavedova still went 38 minutes and scored 17 on his ankle...

Gonzaga is at 19 in the RPI. They're in. St. Mary's is at 32 (on the bubble) and BYU is 42d (probably out).

You're right. This WCC Tournament could be very important.

Not only is that called pandering, it is an affront to the sensibilities of most.

Pepperdine beat SCU for their 4th conference win. Moves us out of a tie for 6th and into 7th place. Since we lost the tie-breaker to them, it doesn't really matter. Only chance now to avoid the play-in game is to win at BYU. However, coming off a 27 point home loss, I'm not feeling to good about that.

In other games, GU beat BYU, and needs to beat USD to have a chance to tie for the conference title. SMC needs to beat USF to stay ahead of GU and win the title outright. USF had a bye last night, and will be well rested, so SMC will have to work to get that title. Should be an intense Bay Area rivalry game with a lot on the line.

The upset of last night was USD winning at LMU. If USD can beat GU at home, they'll have an opportunity to tie USF in the standings. LMU is basically locked into the 4th position, which may be beneficial for them. They'd have a semi-final game against a banged up SMC rather than against GU. Wonder if they looked at those possibilities before losing last night?

LMU . In WCC action they are 3-4 at home; 7-1 on the road! Santa Clara could pick up their first WCC win tomorrow in LA.
