Oregon Game
If you are planning to go to the game today, the weather forecast is for a high of 76 and a 50% chance of thundershowers.

Re: Oregon Game
I am curious about the University of Portland athletic site saying the game is being steamed or televised on Pac 12 nework with no verification at the Pac 12 network site? Anyone got some feedback? Thanks

Re: Oregon Game
Well, it might be steamed, it just depends on the rain/sunshine combo this evening.... sorry, estplnr wrote:I am curious about the University of Portland athletic site saying the game is being steamed or televised on Pac 12 nework with no verification at the Pac 12 network site? Anyway, Pac12.com indicates there is NO TV coverage, but the game will be "Live Streamed."

Re: Oregon Game
Sounded from the audio of the live stream that there were a number of Pilots fans, including the Villa Drum Squad, on hand for the Pilots 2-1 victory in extra time.
It makes quite a difference to the players knowing their supporters are close at hand.

Re: Oregon Game
Record setting crowd at Oregon, 1000+ a few more. Announcers said that there was as much purple in the crowd as yellow. Also, the Villa drums could be heard in the background of the telecast. Good stuff.

Re: Oregon Game
Lots of Pilots fans were there today. It was wet but the Pilots pulled off the win in OT.
Four freshmen started: Viera, Boon, Kendrick and Evans. All played well and Boon got the winner with the other three all involved in the play leading up to the goal.
Pilots deserved the win. There were a lot of passes going astray. Suspicion that the turf field had a role in the dysfunction.
Pilots look at their best when they can play one and two touch and keep the ball moving.
Stanford will be a tough game for this team. Hopefully Parker, who was rested today, will be fit for the game.

A bit more analysis tomorrow, but for new, this highlight from twitter near the end of the second half:
Crowd cheered.
@PortlandPilots: WSOC: @lo_mccluskie just kicked a ball through the ginormous O above the far side of the field, does she win a prize or something? #GoPilots
Crowd cheered.

Re: Oregon Game
Were you guys at a soccer stadium or a NASCAR event? How many "Oregon" or "Duck" or "O" placements are in that stadium? I guess they don't want anyone to forget where they are. Of course it is Eugene, so there may be a few walking in a haze...

Re: Oregon Game
Geezer counted eight O's in the stadium counting the O's in the word Oregon. Of course he wasn't counting the ones on the scoreboard - at least 3 more there and the ones that may have been on signs on our side of the field facing the other side (towards the team benches). So 11+. At least at a NASCAR event there is some variety in the signage. This was more like having Fidel or Mao's photo everywhere.
As we walked in they had a table where you could sign something to wish "Uncle Phil" a Happy Birthday.

Re: Oregon Game
LOL! I guess you do what you have to, to keep the gravy train rolling.
One question, is that an 'O' inside the big 'O' in the center circle? If so, oh no!

I missed one in my count, I guess. And I was only counting the ones I could see from my seat.

Re: Oregon Game
Don't forget about the O's at the PK mark and the ones at the corners of the field that were made with the two-toned grass... Also, why is Ducks spelled backwards where your typical scoreboard would say "guest?"Geezaldinho wrote:Haha. Why, yes it is!keeper wrote:LOL! Re: Oregon Game
Another thing...
If you notice in the pictures, the lines for the technical areas are painted on the near side of the field, but ground level bleachers are just behind and the players benches are actually on the far side where they are little specks in the distance.
It's like they are scared of us.

Well, there's the center circle with the big 'O' superimposed on it, then of course there's the little 'o' on the center line:keeper wrote:One question, is that an 'O' inside the big 'O' in the center circle? If so, oh no!

Geez, did you count the more subtle 'O' in the grass at each of the corners?

Re: Oregon Game
And, as if there were not enough of these 'O's' all around Pape' Field, did you get a chance to take a look in the ladies locker room?
Or in the team video room?
I didn't even think to get a picture of the less than subtle 'O's' on the back of everyone's car that was on I-5.

No, that wall is blank except for a couple of video screens......but there are a couple of pretty cool Duck murals....Geezaldinho wrote:I wonder if they ever put the mural on the wall like what was in the proposal?
This one in the back of the team video room:
And my favorite, this one in the treatment room:
Although I imagine UO uses more than just an ice bag and couple pieces of tape to mend its athletes.
