I totally agree! Corvallis is a wonderful town and OSU is a good university....but it does deserve a better basketball program that will again pack in the fans.VillaGorilla wrote:Not entirely Pilots-related, but how sad is it how far OSU has fallen not just on the court but in terms of fan involvement? This is still a program that is still around Number 15 in ALL TIME WINS AS A PROGRAM.
Gills holds around 9,600 fans, and Wednesday night the “official” attendance was just over 3,000, but believe me, no more than 2,000 were actually occupying seats. Apparently the Coppin St. game drew over 7,000 fans, but after the opening loss many fans vowed to never return.....not only is that disloyal to one's school and the student-athletes, but it's just plain stupid.

Well, the monkey is off the Pilots backs, so to speak....
The WCC is now 23-2 after USF lost at home to Nevada tonight 92-90.
Nevada had previously lost to Pacific in Reno....so who knows how the WCC will finally shake out!

So Oregon State went on the road today and beat a good Maryland team 90-83. Interesting.

The last time the Oregon State men's basketball team made the NCAA Tournament the Beavers had Gary Payton on the roster.VillaGorilla wrote:Not entirely Pilots-related, but how sad is it how far OSU has fallen not just on the court but in terms of fan involvement? So what had OSU coach Craig Robinson done in an effort to get the Beavers back to the Big Dance? He added Gary Payton…..
Gary Payton II, son of the OSU legend and Hall of Famer, has committed to join the Beavers.
The younger Payton, known as "The Mitten," is a 6-foot-3, 175-pound guard will have two years of eligibility at OSU after two years at Salt Lake Community College.
OSU and Gary will be at the Chiles Center next season.

Maybe that's instead of the $3 million he pledged for the Gil annex.
