Vegas 2017 Empty Vegas 2017

For those of you thinking of heading to Vegas this year for the tournament, there is new addition to the offerings at the Orleans. There is now a pub with 40 beers on tap. Even Geez should be able to find something he likes with that many available.

Thanks for the invitation, blacksheep, but I suppose it was aimed more at the older but definitely not grumpy people on this forum.  Razz

Although Las Vegas may be “sin city” and all that, a couple of my friends found out the hard way at last year's tournament that possession, consumption, or purchase of alcohol by a person under 21 is forbidden.

They also found out the penalty for breaking the rules carries a penalty of up to 6 months in jail and/or up to $1,000 in fines.  My friends spent the night in jail and were fined $500…..

Part of the WCC Tournament is during our spring break, but most of the students I’ve talked to are heading to various countries such as Haiti to do volunteer work….hope we’re allowed back in the US after the wall goes up. Evil or Very Mad

Oh! I might actually be able to go this year. The tournament happens to be held at the same time as an academic conference I might be at. Now, to figure out how to get the University of South Carolina to fund my trip...

That being said, how do tickets and such work? It should be pretty easy to find a ticket to a UP game (unfortunately), right?

Hell, a $500 fine might be cheaper than spending the night in the casino drunken

Vegas is definitely more fun when your're over 21!  A quick internet search confirms that casinos in particular are very tough on underage drinking.  I guess when you make millions of dollars on gaming, you can't afford to lose your gaming license.

Tickets should be easy. You can order the whole package from UP, but there are usually single game tickets available from the box office and always tickets available from scalpers. I'm not buying a ticket package this year.
