Re: VEGAS!
Nice! Great news, SP11. You will have no regrets about making this trip (well, except maybe any unfortunate losses at the black jack table...) Do your homework and decide which brand you want in your bucket(s) of beer!
A good reminder to everyone to make your travel plans now to attend the tourney at The Orleans, March 5-8, 2010. The Orleans will sell out. Flights will be full.
We may need to schedule the annual Pilot Nation "Off-Site Membership Meeting" in Vegas that weekend... And then of course there is the 1K Club Hospitality Suite...

Hmm. Tourney Starts 4 months from tomorrow. I have ~750 posts to go. That is a little under 200 a month. 6ish posts a day to get there.
Have you guys heard of that play... Spamalot

Re: VEGAS!
Don't forget to also contact the Athletic Department immediately to order any remaining tickets to the tournament (if they aren't gone already!)... The tickets go on sale to the public soon...

Re: VEGAS!
Good stuff - we need a good Pilot contingent there. I'm in again for this year. It is definatly a balst. Lots of good hoops. And even if you're not really a gambling type, there is plenty there to do between going to the WCC games, watching other games in the sports books, going to a show, BOWLING!, and just walking around taking vegas in.
Spread the good word and get other Pilot faithful to buy tickets!!

Re: VEGAS!
Marketing is doing that Sin City Posse promotion again. IF the tickets they give out are All-Session passes (which I kind of doubt) I'll do that. Otherwise, I'll be purchasing soon! $135 was the price I heard.

Re: VEGAS!
Agreed... on top of all the basketball, even just in the Orleans there is a bowling alley, movie theater, spa... not to mention all the mega casino resorts on the Strip & downtown, with their shopping, sight seeing, dining, beverages, shows...
Oh, and did I mention that a trip to the NCAA's will be on the line?!?!

Re: VEGAS!
I'd appreciate any advice on where to find the cheapest flights. I haven't found any great deals to speak of.

Re: VEGAS!
Athletics is very interested in sending us. I'll be there if they are willing to pay for community players in the band.
(You ask me, it's kind of a waste to send underclassmen.)

Re: VEGAS!
Shipstad11... you can always try Kayak.com. It's like a clearinghouse website that searches all the online flight sites (except for Southwest Airlines flights... gotta to to their website for those).
I'm definitely planning on going this year and (hopefully) getting a pretty big group of guys to come with. Can't wait!

You could take a real late flight back monday night after the championship game. That should get you home in time for work Tuesday morning.

Isn't the game at like 8:00 pm? Which would mean I couldn't get a flight back before midnight and I would not be home before my shift started in the morning. We shall see though, I will have some time off accrued by then, but I am lowest on the totem pole right now.

Re: VEGAS!
I think Southwest has some package deals to Vegas:
http://www.southwestvacations.com/specials/detail.asp?xmlfile=FS0486&Referrer=W16&DCMP=PPC-GGL_CP-LAS-Promo_AD-LAS-Promo-B
Those deals aren't for March...but, in any case...they may have other deals in the future. If you plan around the entertainment scene, things may work for the best. $64/night is really good.

Re: VEGAS!
It looks like that SW deal expires on 2/4. So not relevant for the Tourney but a great deal, by the looks of it.
