Brackets come out this afternoon, so I thought I'd set this up early for a change.

Maybe this year the winner should buy me a bucket. Cool

Of course you are in, you are never close to winning! Embarassed

Here's what "winning" a bucket a beer really looks like:

Pilotnut sees you in the casino and orders the first bucket of beer . .

After the first bucket is consumed, the winner then buys the second bucket of beer . .

As the second bucket of beer is being consumed another pilot fan will stumble by and buy the third bucket . .

Pretty soon there is a crowd of Pillot fans and a couple buckets are sitting on the bar . .

More fans show up, and everyone looses track of who's turn it is to buy the next bucket so multiple buckets are purchased at the same time . .

Soon it's 3:00 AM, everyone's drunk, the worlds problems are solved and it's time to stumble to bed Cheers!

This is an accurate portrayal.  So much for what happens there staying there...

I will renew my offer for a bucket of beers (or other non-alcoholic beverage) for the winner, redeemable only during the WCC tournament in Vegas!  Cool

I am not going to lie--I felt pretty good about my choices until I got to Arizona vs. Virginia.  Question

After the first two games, 11 of us are still perfect!

Fan4Life's pick of Oklahoma making the elite 8 didn't work.

#4 GU barely beat the #13 seed UNC Greenville, 68-64. Too bad their crappy conference didn't prepare them to make FTs, or allow them to got a better seed so they didn't have to face a #13.

I have to say...I am somewhat surprised that in a bracket challenge consisting of Pilots fans, only one picked Gonzaga to lose in the first round!

I respect the choice, Rochin54!

Wow.  Loyola-Chicago made a buzzer beater 3P to beat Miami. Left 7 of us still unbeaten.

Update: and now nobody is perfect. Nobody made it through the first 8 games unscathed.

After the first day, WW Winkie is all alone in first place . . . though his pick to have Arizona make the Final Four may come back to bite him

UP7587 is currently in 5th, but he has the most possible points!

MaizeBluePurple is joined by Pilot2002 and Deaner in last place. It's going to take a big comeback to have a repeat champ. Deaner, you have the fewest possible points.

16 more games tomorrow. Plenty of time for more bracket busters.

Quite sure that many of us feel the same about bracket busters....they may bust our bracket, but watching and rooting for teams like Buffalo and Marshall to win, and then seeing them succeed, is far more satisfying....

EDIT/UPDATE...or UMBC beating #1 UVA...not even a close game in the second half!

Wanna bet the Power 5s and the selection committee look for even more ways to keep teams like UMBC out of the tournament in the future? Hey, 10th place in your 'not a truck stop' conference? You're in!

I was thinking the same. The first time was to figure how to keep the Missouri Valley out.

With 60% of the votes and lots of money involved, it’s innevitable.

Wow, what a day!

WW Winkie now has a 4 point lead on the field. The UVA loss makes his Arizona pick not hurt him so bad. Not only does he have the most points, he now also has the most possible points.

I have the second most possible points with UP7587 right behind me. Only 3 of us still have over 100 possible points.

Woodless! is bringing up the rear, but he still thinks he has a chance.

This may be the lowest point total ever for our bracket challenge.  I wish Yahoo would keep the old brackets available, but they don't.  Half my final four is gone already, but I do still have an outside chance to win it.

WW Winkie is still holding on to his 4 point lead.  Stoney has the most points possible though.

Going through some of the options on the scenerio generator, If there are no more upsets, Stoney will be the winner.  Fan4Life can win if Gonzaga is the champ.

The lowest possible points is sub 4 minute bracket (sorry, I don't know who's bracket this is).  Rochin and Not the winning bracket (I think I know who this is, but not sure) are also tied with sub 4 for last place.  I checked none of three of you can win.   Embarassed

Proud to know that my bracket has a chance to win in what, as you said, must be the worst collection of brackets ever. (Through no fault of the basketball savants here at Pilot Nation... this has been a totally crazy tournament!)

As blacksheep rarely looks beyond Men's Basketball on PilotNaton, I want to make sure he, and others, see the link to this year's poker tournament on April 14th at 7pm (after three soccer matches earlier in the day at Merlo Field).

Thanks DD. I just signed up, so I will be there to defend my title. For those who haven't done it, it's a fun event. Don't worry about how good you are, there is a good mix of players. It's fun poker, not serious poker (well, there are only a few serious players).
