There should be a prize for best bracket name. So far it would go to fireterryporter.com, except that he didn't take the time to actually set up the website.

I'd like to take a ton of credit for doing all the work to run it, but honestly, Yahoo couldn't make it any easier.

7 of us are still perfect! Rob's Jacket is tie for last place with MaizeBlue with no games picked right. Rob actually picked the games wrong, whereas Maize didn't bother filling out his bracket

Who has Bradley?
Edit: never mind, MSU on a 9 point run

#12 seed Murray St. does what #11 Belmont, #12 New Mexico St., and #15 Bradley were unable to do, beat a power conference team. They blasted Marquette 83-64.

Re: 2019 Bracket Challenge
fireterryporter.com and fan4life are tied for first after day one with 14 of 16 games picked correctly. Though inexplicably, fan4life had St. Mary's in the title game, so her bracket is not looking too good. 6 of us are only one point back.
Mesa is the only other one with a final four team who's already out. Betting on Jazz's Wolf Pack didn't pay off.
Rob's Jacket is still bringing up the rear though he will probably pass Geez who could only be bothered to fill out half of his bracket
I wasn't able to see many games today, but I don't think there were any buzzer beaters. Hopefully tomorrow brings a little more excitement.

Sigh...
I haven’t filled out bracket is several years, but I figured oH, what the hell.
So I started a first pass then I got an important call. By the time it was over, the bracket was closed.
I can take solace that I’ll probably have fewer bad picks than many of you, even if I get the rest wrong.

Re: 2019 Bracket Challenge
The sweet 16 is set and it's been a good tournament for those who went chalk. Not only is fireterryporter.com the best name, but also the best bracket so far. R54 is just one point back and 3 are only 2 points back. Piloto Estudiantil (who I assume is Student Pilot) is the worst bracket (well, at least among those who actually filled theirs out).
I can't seem to find the scenario generator, so I can't do my normal analysis of who can still win it (well, I could, but I'm not going to do the work without the scenario generator).

Re: 2019 Bracket Challenge
According to NCAA.com, there is still one perfect bracket remaining out of the millions submitted in contests run by the NCAA, ESPN, Yahoo, CBS, Fox and Sports Illustrated...it's an entry dubbed “Center Road” in the NCAA’s bracket challenge. The NCAA say the 48 correct picks shatters the previous record of 39 games two years ago.
At Yahoo, an entry called "Court Stormers" picked the first 43 games correctly to break Yahoo's record of 39, also set two years ago, and "Court Stormers" now has 47/48 after picking Buffalo to beat Texas Tech.
I guess the odds of "Center Road" getting 48 straight correct are over 200 trillion to 1...but Pilotfan4life will have to verify that....as I know nothing about numbers.
Oh, and "Center Road" picked Gonzaga as the National Champion.

Re: 2019 Bracket Challenge
Ha, I will admit I didn't see any basketball this past season except a couple of Pilots games live, but I thought by picking my grandmother's graduate school, New Mexico St. and my newest girlfriend's school, Wofford, to go deep into the tournament, it would gain me a bunch of points where it really counted.blacksheep wrote: Piloto Estudiantil (who I assume is Student Pilot) is the worst bracket (well, at least among those who actually filled theirs out).
As for the rest, I pretty much just relied on the sister of a neighbor in Puerto Rico who was visiting from Havana...but it turns out she knows more about béisbol than baloncesto…

Re: 2019 Bracket Challenge
I saw that Yahoo entry with 43 correct picks; they outlasted all the 13.2M entries on ESPN.
As for "Center Road", I wonder what it'd be worth if he played a $10 parlay bet on all those games?

Re: 2019 Bracket Challenge
The scenario generator is back! Fireterryporter.com still has the top bracket and most points possible (418 days without a WCC win if you believe his website:oops: ). If top seeds win out, which seems likely this year, Sound Voltex wins. Still too many teams to list still have a chance to win. Sorry Deaner, you are correct, you can't do it.

Re: 2019 Bracket Challenge
We are down to six who can win it. Fireterryporter.com is still in the lead and still has the most possible points. I'm now the winner if the top seeds win.
Stonehouse, Rochin, 7587, and Watching From the Sidelines all have a shot.
Hoop Scoop is in last place (anyone really surprised?).
I think I have all the brackets who can win, but if I missed someone, post it! Those who's brackets I don't know, feel free to claim you bracket (Looking at you fireterryporter and watching from the sidelines ... hoop scoop ).

Re: 2019 Bracket Challenge
The worst is rooting against my self interest. I have Duke in the FF, but I wanted to see both UCF and VT make their last second shots. Ferretface hangs on. And I wanted Houston to hang on against Calipari and UK, but UK buried a late 3P, and won.
Auburn and Texas Tech are amazing picks by FTP.com, I knew Auburn was hot, but I thought UNC would make it through to the FF, and I frankly knew nothing about TTech except they were a #3 seed.
