2023 Bracket Challenge
It's that time of year again.
Here is the link to the bracket challenge.

As always, a bucket of beer in Vegas to the winner. Voltex didn't claim his prize this year.

Does being at the selection party today count?
(Actually I drove so rather not)

Do the unclaimed prizes roll over to future years? Like could 4 previous winners all show up next year and get their previously earned buckets of beers on the same night?

I would argue that it is a binding contract with no expiration. So I think yes.

Must be present in Vegas next year!
PS, there's lots of buckets consumed whether the winner shows up or not.

I'm in. Read one article, spent zero minutes looking at data, picked the bracket in about three minutes.

Re: 2023 Bracket Challenge
Just a reminder to get signed up and get your brackets filled out by tomorrow morning at 9:15, which is when the first game tips off. Looks like we have 13 so far. Hoping for around 20.

Re: 2023 Bracket Challenge
So we ended up with 18 brackets in the pool. 12 of them had their perfect bracket chances ruined after the first game.
7 of 18 called the Furman upset. But only PilotFan4Life and Rob's Jacket are perfect through 2 games!

Haha, I picked Furman, but missed the #8-#9 game when Maryland edged WVU. I picked all the #9 seeds just because.

Re: 2023 Bracket Challenge
The problem with these stupid brackets is you fill them out with your head and then root for the other team with your heart!!
Congratulations #15 Princton!

Boise St. can't score. Between the MWC woes and UA's faceplant, western basketball is not shining.

Re: 2023 Bracket Challenge
The best Day 1 performance was Woodless with 13 out of 16 correct. So far, only Hoop Scoop has lost the champ pick; he had Arizona. Bobby Sharp Fan Club is in 2nd place with 12 correct picks, but he has the highest possible point score. One of the early leaders, PilotFan4Life, picked Furman, but then only got 6 more picks correct to fall to last place.
On the Yahoo app, there are no perfect brackets left. Not sure how many entries there were. On the ESPN app, there were 20,056,273 entries, and only 0.00328% were perfect for Day 1. That's 658 out of 20 million. Those folks better get a Powerball ticket.

Pete and Bobby Sharp go down in flames with #1 Purdue's loss to #16 Fairleigh Dickinson. That game also ended the last 22 perfect brackets on ESPN.

After the first round, Woodless and Hoop Scoop are tied for the lead. Fan4Life, is bringing up the rear (by a large margin by the way )
Don't look now, but while I'm in the middle of the pack, I have the most possible points available!

With Purdue out, I am officially throwing my support behind Mrs. Deaner's bracket. Go Kansas!

Re: 2023 Bracket Challenge
I always struggle to figure out who's bracket is who's. Is Mrs Deaner willing to let us know which bracket is hers? If it's the one I'm thinking of, her bracket isn't much better than yours.

With Mrs. Deaner's "Buster" bracket busted with Kansas' loss, I am officially throwing my support behind canadagael's bracket. Go UCLA!

Re: 2023 Bracket Challenge
Woodless continues to lead. I'm sure his bracket will fall apart tomorrow though! You better show up in Vegas if you win.
Maize Blue has the fewest possible points, so Fan4Life might not finish last (though she probably will)
Rochin54 now has the most possible points, I'm down to second in that category.

Woodless now shares the lead with Camas Washougal. A whole bunch of us are just 2pts behind, and I'm back to having the most possible points.
Fan4Life is still bringing up the rear.
