Big Monday Gone? Thu.-Sat. Again?
Saw this on the Zag board:

Going back to Thursday-Saturday will be GREAT for students and fans, I think. Those Monday games were tough in general, especially for students. The Thursday games always had a lot more energy.
I thought Mike Roth made an interesting point about the officials, though I really don't think that the officiating has been any better/worse over the past few years, which (no surprise) is not a rining endorsement of the quality of officials for the WCC.
I think this is a good move all-around as long as the WCC is still getting lots of games on ESPN. The conference is in a position of strength right now coming off a season with three teams making the NCAAs, and it would be a shame if we saw a dip in our presense on ESPN and ESPN2. I'm sure we'll get plenty of ESPNU games, but until the U gets picked up by more broadcasters it's not going to get the conference nearly as much exposure as the big two.
So I don't know. We'll see how this shakes out. But I do think it's interesting that EPSN are the ones trying to make the changes, which would (I'm sure) put Zaninovich in the catbird's seat in terms of getting terms that are beneficial to the conference. Seems like this will be his first big test as commissioner... let's see how he does!

I hope so...I hated Monday night games from the band perspective. No crowd, no energy.

Some of the Mon. games seemed to randomly change to 8 pm starts too--We weren't on TV, so I don't know why they made it a later night for everyone.

Haha, I would be a big fan of the switch, just because it would provide a full Thursday evening... the flow from the CC stands to the T-room PBR pitchers just feels so wonderfully organic and natural.... I'm glad to see order restored... Now if they can do something about getting John Stapleton back, we'd be in business...
