Would you root for Gonzaga to beat Duke in basketball? I know that I would.
I'm starting to agree with 7587...I don't like Charlie.

Hmm...interesting question. I don't think I would. I would watch the game, probably not root for either one, and chuckle to myself if (i.e., when) GU lost by choking at the end of the game. If they would win, I'd be fine with it, but I wouldn't cheer for it.
Edit to mention that it may be different if it were in the NCAA tourney.

I don't know, whenever those two teams face up I just pray a chasm opens up in center court dropping both teams to the fires of Gehenna from whence they came... Too far? I think not.

Not a chance. I'd pull for the Dookies, then take a shower.
mattywizz wrote:Always root for the team in your conference...unless of course you are in the WCC, you can NEVER root for Gonzaga.
Quoted for emphasis.

Re: Soooo....Weis?
So there is a big game this weekend. There has been a lot of hype on this one. What's the feeling like in South Bend Rochin54??
I am going to go out on a limb and predict an ND victory 24-21. I mean after all, Washington beat USC and ND beat Washington.

Re: Soooo....Weis?
Ton of talk about it around town. It's obviously a huge game. I think Southern Cal is favored by 10.
People are pretty optimistic. Weis is bringing in something like 8 or 10 of the top 100 recruits for the game. People seem to think that this could be the year. Of course, a lot of people think Weis' job is on the line with this one - or at least it is if they get blown out. But it's a long season and a lot can change that.
Personally, I think ND's defense will need to step up and play much better than they have lately. They struggle on the d-line, and of course S. Cal will want to run the ball often. I think the defense has the ability to play better, so we'll see if they can step it up a notch for a big time game.
ND's offense is solid. Honestly, I think Clausen might be the best passing quarterback in the country. The guy throws it on the money, whether it's a deep, intermediate, or short ball. If he gets time, he will find someone. Thus far, the O-line has been able to give him plenty of time. The running game has been hit and miss throughout the season, but they have had some success.
Prediction....man....I'm gonna go with a reversal of 2005, ND wins 34-31.

Well by the transitive property UW did beat USC at home therefore... But again this game falls under the Duke vs. Zag bball game postulate...

Nah - I'm going with Jimmy Clausen pass caught with one hand by MNichael Floyd (whilst he is still wearing his sling) as time expires.
Man it would be nice to have Floyd on the field. Dude's a stud. I was playing basketball and watched him drive baseline and throw down a dunk over three guys trying to block him. He has the wow factor.

Re: Soooo....Weis?
Back to Weis. Close, but no cigar! The wonderqb missed his receiver in the last second, letting Cheatey Petey and his band of undisciplined players (ridiculous penalties in the final minutes) get out with another win. So, I guess Charlie has to go undefeated the rest of the year to keep the folks out for his head at bay.
