If they hold true to form, after all the teams they play have announced their schedules.

Re: 2010 Schedule
It seems like season ticket renewals have usually been done in early May and they usually send out a schedule with the renewal solicitation.
I haven't received anything yet. Has anyone else gotten a renewal? Does anyone know when they will be sent?

Re: 2010 Schedule
Sounds like the biggest question going into the fall season is going to be the health and fitness of Cloee and Michelle O?
They have the potential to be the best defensive pair in D1 but both appear to be less than 100%. Sad.
Plus, of course, we hope for Kendra to be able to finish her career in style, of which she has plenty.

Re: 2010 Schedule
I talked with Kendra's dad today and he said she had ACL surgery three months ago. She can't run yet but her spirits are good and she hopes to be back by at least mid-season. Let's hope for a recovery like Shannon had a few years ago before playing well in the World Cup so she can play the entire season.

I also haven't seen anything yet. I was cleaning the house over the weekend and stumbled across last year's renewal letter. It came in early April and the due date for payment was the start of May. For whatever reason they're running later this year.

We're going to play Stanford in the Rose Bowl? Home Depot Center would be a little more intimate if they want to play in the LA area.

Michelle O is okay. She's been playing GK for all the spring games...covering for Hailee who has been sitting out. Cloee played against OSU....and then sat out the rest of the spring games.
Kassie and Molly haven't played in any spring games. Unknown what injuries everyone is nursing or rehabing...except for Kendra (ACL). Time is on our side. Hope each of the gals are healthy and fit by Fall. The latter half of the non-conference matches is gonna be brutal!

Yeah, they came here the previous two years. it all averages out. That's what happens when you have an odd number of conference games.
I'm also pretty sure we will travel to Palo Alto to play Stanford. At least the folks there think so..
I'm guessing the final game will be on the Friday before selection Monday also - it has been for the last couple of years.

Re: 2010 Schedule
Looks like we should benefit a little more from strength of schedule this year, not just in the RPI but also in reality. Playing Stanford, for example, during the regular season should help when it comes to the playoffs. Too bad OSU and WSU are not on it for 2010 -- they gave us good matches last year -- but all in all this schedule seems to be a definite upgrade. The period from September 10 through 25 should tell us a lot about our post-season prospects.

I might start the period with August 29 when the Pilots play Oklahoma State. OSU is the defending Big 12 Champion (won the tournament, not the regular season, defeating the regular season winner and Texas A&M along the way). Also, the next weekend, the Pilots play Wisconsin, which was the #3 team in the Big 10 and tied #2 Ohio State and #1 Penn State at the end of the season.
Re: 2010 Schedule
I just figured out that we may be able to see 15 of the games (one of our nieces and her hub are profs at Stanford and have a house on campus; and her sister and hub have a house on Queen Anne Hill in Seattle and come with us to the UW games most years). Wow, would that be great!
Re: 2010 Schedule
I should be able to catch my usual 2-games-a-year. I'm jealous, UPSF.

That was my thought, too, when I looked at the schedule, a better strength of schedule. But, then I went and looked at the 2009 opponents' 2009 end-of-season RPI ranks and compared them to our 2010 opponents' 2009 RPI ranks. The averages are not very different. The average rank of our 2009 non-conference opponents was 67. The average of our 2010 non-conference opponents is 64.
What matters, of course, is not what our 2010 opponents were ranked last year, but what they will be ranked at the end of the 2010 regular season. I have a hunch that, on average, our 2010 opponents will do better in the rankings this year than they did last year and maybe significantly so. (We also need the other WCC teams to do better than last year, even though they did reasonably well.)
Still, the critical games are going to be those against the most highly ranked teams. Stanford is the most obvious one. Penn State is another. I'm guessing Oklahoma State will be ranked significantly higher than last year, and that could be a big game. The same may be true of Texas A&M. A win over Stanford would be huge. A loss to Stanford isn't a killer, except that it probably means the Pilots would have to win every other game to have any shot at a #1 NCAA Tournament seed and then only if a bunch of the other teams they play end up ranked in the top 25 by the end of the season.
But, from a purely subjective point of view, there's something about this schedule I really like. It will be fun to see a bunch of BCS conference teams from elsewhere in the country come in to play. I like seeing Oregon State and Washington State, too, but we can't have everything and I think I prefer the variety.

Don't discount the road trip to Gonzaga that JS and I did 2 years ago. I'm game for that again this season. Makes for a long day but it's fun!

That Bay Area road trip is a crucial weekend ... and my brother lives down there! The games at home versus Rutgers and Penn State should be key as well. I'm even stoked for the local PSU! Too bad we have to wait some months yet. The suspense might do me in.

That sounds good to me. Seeing 16 regular season games, wow, that would be great. Sorry, fan from afar. Maybe I should learn how to tweet.

It's so hard to learn new things at my (our) age. I think that, in order to learn something new, something already in there has to be removed, to make space. I hate to do that, because I need everything in there - you know, things like how to get home, my name, how to get to Portland once a year to see my two games, etc etc.

Wisconsin welcomes UCLA to the McClimon Soccer Complex in the first-ever meeting between the programs. UCLA, arguably UW’s toughest opponent of the season is coming off a 21-3-1 record after advancing to the College Cup semifinals last year.

I remember dairy night a few years ago...we all got cow bells and we beat Wisconsin something like 5-1. Fun night and definitely a trouncing that I remember. Yet they still to overlook UP.
