2012 schedules

PAC-12 TV has announced their full slate of women's soccer games. Six WCC teams have been announced as opponents with BYU scheduled twice...once vs. Utah and once vs. Oregon. The other WCC teams on the schedule are Santa Clara, Pepperdine, Gonzaga, LMU, and USF. The PAC-12 did, however, feel it appropriate to include some others that were geographically close, such as Air Force, Seattle U, and Hawaii.

My only comment, considering that I think UP should get some media exposure and that the PAC-12 is often embarrassed by the Pilots is that PAC-12 TV can kiss my tarheel.

The schedule includes men’s and women’s teams from more than 15 athletic conferences and 21 action-packed Division I matches. On the men’s side, viewers have the opportunity to see players such as UC Santa Barbara’s Ema Boateng, the 2011-12 Gatorade National Boys Soccer High School Player of the Year, when he suits up against UCLA on Sept. 21 and Cal Poly on Oct. 19, as well as collegiate powerhouse Dillon Serna from Akron when the Zips face St. John’s on Sep. 14. FOX Soccer also presents Texas A&M, the highest scoring offense in women’s Division I play, when they meet Big West favorites Long Beach State on Sept. 7.

Very interesting to note that they have UW scheduled for Sept. 7 in Spokane when Portland shows UW in Portland on Sept 9 playing UND.

Is it possible that there is some misinformation coming from one or more schools? Nah!

SEATTLE - The UW women's soccer match vs. Notre Dame has been moved to Seattle and will be played at Husky Soccer Field.

The match, previously scheduled to be played in Portland, Ore., will kick off at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 9. The UW was originally supposed to participate in the University of Portland's annual tournament that weekend, but after the fourth team (other than UW, Portland and Notre Dame) dropped out, the UW had been set to play the Irish in a neutral-site match in Portland.

"We were as disappointed as the University of Portland when the fourth team in their annual Invitational dropped out late in March," UW head coach Lesle Gallimore explained. "We were extremely fortunate to be able to pick up a match at Gonzaga [Sept. 7], but that was going to have us travel to Spokane and then to Portland for a neutral Sunday match vs. perennial power Notre Dame. Portland was willing to host the game despite not having a match themselves.

Who was the mysterious 4th team?

I forget. But i think it was a Midwest team that:

A) is in one of those conferences doing a last minute conference realignment.
And
II) inaugurating a new stadium and wants to be fresh for its first home match.
