2012-13 Schedule

Sorry, only one small blip on the radar regarding the Pilots preseason schedule so far, but it's a good one:

The Oregon Ducks will be at the Chiles Center on December 21.

The Pilots lost by only 10 in Eugene last year, but since then they've lost their two best players to graduation. It will be a young team that may struggle at the beginning, but by 12/21 they could be good enough to give the Ducks all they can handle.

I’m sure the Pilots will release the basketball schedule soon, but I can share that the ladies will be spending their Thanksgiving holiday in Seattle where they’ll be playing in the State Farm Thanksgiving Tournament at Seattle U. The Pilots open up playing Seattle U. on 11/23, and then either Boston College or Sacred Heart on 11/24.

They’ve also got a little home and home thing going against Portland State, playing at the Stott Center on 11/27 (at exactly the same time UP’s men are playing Lewis and Clark at the Chiles Center), and then back at home against PSU at 2 PM Sunday, 12/2.

Also, for the first time in my memory of watching Pilots Women’s Basketball, they will NOT be playing Montana or Montana State this year……too bad because both Montana schools had good crowds at the Chiles Center, but it was often just too difficult to travel by road in Montana in November/December.

Had a little chat with the "staff" today, they will try to change the 11/27 game to another date if they can.

As both PSU and UP have open dates on 12/30, and both schools have a lengthy period between non-league and league play.....it would appear 12/30 is the most likely substitute date for the game currently scheduled for 11/27 opposite the men's game against L&C.

One interesting note re: the schedule....the women will play the "preliminary" game on December 14 against Fresno State at 5:15 PM before the men "scrimmage" with Portland Bible College at 7 PM in the Chiles Center.

Well, I was close. Our Pilots will now play at PSU on 12/2 (originally scheduled to be played at UP), and PSU will play at UP on 12/29 as part of a double-header when our men take on Texas Pan-American (the women's game was originally scheduled for 11/27 at PSU).

Is that clear? I'm sure it will eventually pop-up on the UP website.
