2013 Recruiting: Wintering + Sharp + Zubizarreta + Gerun

I sure hope Gat can earn a walk-on spot on the roster next year. Just from seeing comments on the team's Facebook page and Twitter, it seems that he is extremely committed and enthusiastic!

Well now it's two years later and today is Bobby's 23rd birthday.....and it looks like he's enjoying it to the fullest.....

Aitor Zubizarreta (Xubi) has really thrived at College of Idaho.  

He's been averaging over 15ppg while shooting just under 50% from the field and 74% from the line....but it has all been against lower division schools.....until yesterday.

Yesterday Xubi scored 19 in 29 minutes against #22 Utah in their 41 point loss to the Utes.

I don't think we've reported on Voldy since his graduation....

Voldy signed with Viten Getafe in Spain's Silver Division, but a couple of weeks ago he moved up to the Spanish Gold Division, signing with Actel Forca Lleida.

I saw a video of Voldy's coach introducing him to the media, but after 20 minutes (all in Spanish), all he basically said was how much he liked Voldy and how much he would help the team....oh, and San Miguel now makes a non-alcoholic beer.

Voldi and Ryan now play in the same division. In fact their teams play each other on Jan 10th.

It's great to see him be successful; I liked his energy and attitude from the bench (Not to mention announcers' efforts in trying to pronounce his name). Good luck, Xubi!

Well, Palma (Rhino's team) should be favored as they are having a good season (9-5 last I looked), and Forca Lleida is not (one of the reason they signed Voldy).

Regardless, we should get on the bus on travel to that game....the weather there    has got to be better than it is in Spokane...

Palma is now 10-5 but Voldi had a nice game with 17 in their loss today.

As I look outside at our 15" snow and see that the temps are expected to be a balmy -1 this week I second that motion to get on the bus. Whos driving as Im thinking a couple glasses of Sangria are in order.

Haha, well my wife and I saw this bus in Valencia not too long ago....if we can get to Valencia it's probably no more than a 11 hour boat ride to Palma.  

The quicker route is from Barcelona. Get in the bow on deck with 3-4 bottles of wine and it passes in no time.

Voldy is still in Spain's Gold Division, but now he's signed with C.B. Clavijo in the northern city of Logrono.

Turns out Bobby Sharp, one of the hero's of the 3-OT win over BYU six years ago, is now 27 years-old and a 49ers fan...
