Gotta say, the refs have been letting a lot go this entire tournament, some much more serious than Timme's fourth foul.

No.
This probably scotches Zag talk about jumping to the Big East.
Wait,
Timme can come back another year?

If Texas loses tomorrow, #4 UConn will be the highest seed in the Final Four.

I can't wait for GUBoards to explain to me how this loss was really all the rest of the WCC's fault.

Yes, he can, but he has said he won't.Geezaldinho wrote:Wait,

Difficult to say what his NBA draft position would be, but as he is reportedly making close to $1mil at GU, you never know, he may change is mind.

Bolton is out of eligibility.
Gregg has played three years.
Hickman has played two years.
Reid has played two years (one at GU).
Sallis has played two years.
Smith has played four years (one at GU).
Strawther has played three years.
Watson has played four years.
They have three other guys who play limited minutes or are redshirting and have eligibility left, and four who are walk-ons.

Re: 2022-23 Around the NCAA
That is correct, Rasir Bolton is the only current GU player without remaining eligibility.
However, you know Few will clear some space to bring in transfers, and the Zags have already signed a 4-star SF and PG.
GU's record in the four years that GU all-time leader scorer Timme played was 121-13, and the only reason he didn't make it to more than 3 Sweet 16s or better is because there was no Tournament in 2020.
Sure, if Timme leaves it will not be the same team, but that does not mean GU will not be better next year. In fact, there a good chance they will be better.

Your Final Four are:
#4 seed UConn, 29-8, 13-7 in the Big East, tied for 4th place. Lost in the Big East tournament semifinal to Marquette.
#5 seed Miami, 29-7, 15-5 in the ACC, tied for 1st place. Lost in the ACC tournament semifinal to Duke.
#5 seed San Diego St., 31-6, 15-3 in the Mountain West, 1st place. Won the MWC tournament.
#9 seed Florida Atlantic, 35-3, 18-2 in the C-USA, 1st place. Won the C-USA tournament.
I personally favor as the champion teams that won their regular season opportunities, so I will root for the winner of the San Diego St. and Florida Atlantic semifinal.
No Big-12 or Big Ten schools in the Final Four. Those two conferences were awarded 15 spots in the 64-team bracket, 23.44% of the bracket.

A lot of big names in the transfer portal today. Caleb Love UNC, TJ Bamba WSU, Langborg Princeton, Ware U of O and more. You might enjoy adding this to your list of web visits..
While fun to watch, I sure miss the days of the 4-year player.

From an interview with Charles Barkley on 60 Minutes last evening:Kevin wrote:While fun to watch, I sure miss the days of the 4-year player.
Barkley, was of course, talking about name, image and likeness. In short, he hates NIL.“The college game is a travesty and disgrace,” Barkley said. “I’m so mad now about how we can mess up something so beautiful. We can’t pay all these players.”
"In the next three to five years, we’re going to have 25 schools that will dominate the sport because they can afford the players. And the schools that can’t afford or won’t pay the players are going to be irrelevant."

I’m taking a wait-and-see approach. I mean for heaven’s sake we’ve got Florida Atlantic and San Diego State in the F4 this year.

I have to agree!Dean Murdoch wrote:I’m taking a wait-and-see approach. I mean for heaven’s sake we’ve got Florida Atlantic and San Diego State in the F4 this year.
After all, teams are allowed only 13 scholarship players, and international players are apparently barred from accepting NIL money.
So, the top 25 teams that Barkley spoke about x 13 players = 325 Top Paid Players.
It's still early in the post season, and there are already somewhere north of 1,000 players in the portal.

Thought I'd check:Dean Murdoch wrote:I’m taking a wait-and-see approach. I mean for heaven’s sake we’ve got Florida Atlantic and San Diego State in the F4 this year.
SDSU:
5 transfers: Oakland U.; Seattle U. (2); TCU; Cal
1 international: Ghana
FAU:
3 transfers: Minnesota; UConn; Texas Tech; and 2 JUCO transfers.
There is one player from Puerto Rico on the team, but I don't think that counts as an international for NIL purposes.

Alec Wintering played four years, started every game he played in, and his last year was Porter's first year.
D'Marques Tyson played four years, two with Reveno and two with Porter.
Philipp Hartwich did the same.
That's the last ones we've had.

Although I'm sure SDSU players are likely getting some NIL money, Matt Bradley is definitely not getting $355K... What you are referencing is on3's estimated valuation of each student-athletes NIL potential. Like many others have stated, I believe the amount of money actually being paid out to NIL is significantly less across the board than what people think.
"About On3 NIL Valuation
The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV).
A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation establishes the overall NIL market and projected 12-month growth rate by measuring two categories, Brand Value Index and Roster Value Index."

That location is quite a step down in prestige.

Re: 2022-23 Around the NCAA
If you did not watch the semifinals last night, you missed some very good basketball...better than some the recent NCAA Tournament games.DoubleDipper wrote:Oh, my! The NIT semifinals have snuck up on us.
North Texas, with by far the largest fan turnout, trailed the entire game until 2 minutes to go, and beat Wisconsin, 56-54.
In the second game, UAB and Utah Valley went toe-to-toe for 40 minutes and then finally took it to overtime where UAB prevailed, 88-86.
It was a bit like March 17 with three teams and their fans dressed in green...
#4 UAB is favored by 1.5 over #2 North Texas in tomorrow's championship game.

One scholarship just opened up...Dom Harris is in the portal after the former 4-star recruit just couldn't crack the GU rotation.DoubleDipper wrote:That is correct, Rasir Bolton is the only current GU player without remaining eligibility.

Harris took a medical redshirt last year and stepped on to the court in just 13 games this season, so his replacement will be an upgrade for Coach Few.
