Re: Annual Pilot Nation Bracket Challenge
Yeah, that's pretty lame. Some people feel that any team that can upset another in the first round deserves to be in the tourney. So, an upset win by Wisconsin or Arizona means that they deserve to be in the tourney? I don't think so. Strength of schedule means a little bit too much still in the selection process; otherwise teams like SMC would have been in the tourney. Hopefully, they learned their lesson. As much as I dislike Gonzaga, they do a great job of non-conference scheduling. UP's non-conference schedule will be better next year with the ealy season tourney... If we take care of business, we'll be in better shape...

Re: Annual Pilot Nation Bracket Challenge
If I read the standings correctly, if UNC wins tonight, I would finish fifth in the bracket challenge. Considering I was 21st after the first round, I'll take it.

Re: Annual Pilot Nation Bracket Challenge
I would just like to thank Rochin54 for turning in what might be the worst bracket in history. It's not enough that he sets up the group, but he goes to extra step to intentionally get last place to build the rest of our self-esteems.
As your prize, I will bring you some Northeastern microbrew and pick up a couple cream-filled maple bars on my drive back home.

Re: Annual Pilot Nation Bracket Challenge
I'm a prophet! Someone asked me today what I thought the game tonight would be, and I said, "a UNC blowout." So I came home from work, finished mowing the lawn and another little project, came in 5 minutes ago, and, yep, just what I said. Too bad they put in a shot clock, or we could watch the Carolina Four Corner offense for the last 20 minutes.

You're most welcome. I will be looking forward to this....nothing like sitting down with a cold one and a cream-filled maple bar!

Re: Annual Pilot Nation Bracket Challenge
Congrats to AthleticJames for winning the pool this year!
(AJ actually picked Villanova in the Final Four... should we have a forensic accountant look into this? )
It looks like I pulled a buzzer-beater to edge out MesaPilot1 for 8th place... and thanks to R54 for setting up the group!

He wasn't the only one - Villanova and Carolina were single-handedly responsible for lifting my bracket from 21st after the first round to 6th in the final tally.
Thanks again, Rochin54!

Re: Annual Pilot Nation Bracket Challenge
Nice. Thanks for organizing, R54. Nice job picking Villanova as well, Rob's Jacket. I guess this means I get to temporarily have custody of the trophy until next years' contest then...
